mini tutorial: reducing polycount in Blender with selective dissolve
Hey simblr, I threw together a short tutorial thing on how I manually reduce meshes in Blender. I'm not a fan of the Decimate modifier and avoid it as much as possible. I wrote this with Blender 3.0+ in mind (I'm using 4.3.2 myself). It probably also applies to earlier versions but I don't know if the shortcuts/keybindings are the same.
Make sure to only dissolve edges that aren't contributing to the overall shape/silhouette of the mesh.
Here's another approach to selecting and dissolving edges.

Loaded up TS4 on my laptop last night and made CC free Huntrix girls for the gallery! I also made an attempt at painting an apartment sized Tiger for them to take care of. All outfits assigned and they're set as partners (you'll need to switch off jealousy though, whoops!)
I downloaded someone else's custom tattoos for Rumi's demon patterns and updated the post with that right after taking this screenshot, so if you have B&H, she should come with her marks.
Technically made this last October but it was too late to share. It's still October 3rd here but I am sharing this much later than I'd hoped. I couldn't get my game running properly earlier when I wanted to do a final check before releasing this. I've gotta stop choosing to make time-sensitive CC!

My focus has been absolutely abysmal lately and I haven't really gotten back to working on (let alone finishing) any of my cc wips, and real life things keep cropping up. I finally had some time to play TS4 last night and was updating a few sims and found myself in need of some more glasses options, so I made some recolors for a base game cat-eye frame. The swatches are mostly plain colors but I've also included some ska-ish swatches (skatches??) for some fun options for scene or rockabilly sims.
I didn't finish soon enough to do a porchlight this year so I'll just share some things here. I hope you like them! I do have a few more things I was working on that I'll try to finish ASAP.
