#AD #EarthDay — Today is all about sustainability and there’s tons of small things we can do to lessen our carbon footprint. A few things I’ve done are using reusable water bottles instead of the plastic disposable ones, not wasting water when doing dishes, and using LED light bulbs instead of fluorescent. Another thing I’ve been more conscious about is using products that are more sustainable like @planetkindbygillette which uses recyclable packaging made of 85% recyclable materials. Earth Day 2021 - Artistic Graphics I created some graphics using the PhotoLabPro app. The project began with a stock photo and then involved various effects, frames, etc. Every year, April 22nd is observed as Earth Day across the globe and people and major stakeholders take part in civic activities and work towards raising awareness about critical issues that the Earth is facing. Global warming, pollution and deforestation are some of the problems routinely discussed since they pose a major threat to nature. Over 1 billion people spread across 192 countries participate in Earth Day activities each year. This makes the day as the largest civic observance in the world. I am literally a near lifetime environmentalist. In 1970, when I was around 14 or so I started the "Norridgewock Ecology Nature Club." This was a time when even Republicans were environmentalists. It was President Nixon who signed the order creating the Environmental Protection Agency in 1970. Now, sadly, environmental issues are wrapped up in the partisan divide. The truth is environmental decline affects everyone so it really should be everyone’s concern. The theme this year is "Restore Our Earth" and its focus is on natural processes, emerging green technologies and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems. And therefore, the theme also rejects the belief that only mitigation and adaptation are the ways to address climate change.
