To Be Close to You

So I have no idea how this works but I thought I’d vomit all this out because this has been something I’ve been obsessing on and off about for a while now after combing through the series doing research for my writing and noticing something that sparked my interest as I’d never really noticed it before. It’s easy to dismiss if you don’t really pay attention to it, as most details concerning this woman are, but it does stand out: 

Asami is very touchy-feely. 

Alone, this seems like, why...why am I writing this, so what? Part of me feels like I’m stating the obvious. But then there’s another part that just started to really dissect this beyond, “oh Asami loves touching Korra because Korra’s muscles give her separation anxiety, what else is new”. As I combed through the series, I saw Asami being physically intimate in general with not just Korra, in a way that I didn’t really notice in other characters. So I stumbled down the rabbit hole and saw that throughout the series, I could see the elements of a complex relationship being presented. Between Asami and Intimacy. 

I did a thing. And it is excessive and long and obsessive and completely over the top and I’m ashamed of how long it is. But you can read it if you want. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. 

This madness all started with a song and a scene from Book 2 and before I knew it, Asami was pulling me in again with her goddamn depth.
