Here is a short time-lapse of catching another swarm. We watched this one form and finally migrate to the large bee yard (we have 3 right now) and land on and under the pallet the existing hive was on. How stinkin lucky are our bees to have this view?! Mr. Misty is checking the hive that has the Hogg Half-comb box. They are just starting to build comb in it. It’s been a very odd year. The weather got the bees off to a late start. In fact, there are some Beeks in our county that have already decided they won’t be pulling honey off their hives. Luckily, we are at a higher elevation and though late, the nectar is currently flowing and we should have another month of it. When your beehives are starting to fill up honey and you have supers stacked to the rafters. Due to a flare up, I wasn’t much help today, other than documenting and discussing options.
