There’s something wonderfully soothing to putting real pigments onto paper and giving them time to dry. I almost forgot how therapeutic it can be, until I dug out my old watercolour set that has been resting for years.
Stuck in my head for not quite as long but certainly many months, has been this image from one of my favourite fics, The Ghosts in Us. And I’m so happy with how it turned out, with the aurora, the stars, the Pheonix and comet. And Tunglið, of course. Especially since I got it finished just in time for IttyBittyTeapot’s birthday earlier this month.
Thank you, @ittybittyteapot, for such a gorgeous inspiration and for this beautiful story. <3 And happy birthday, once again. Big fat hugs to you, my friend!
Eren turned his head to look at Levi. “I don’t have a splotch in my eye,” he said.
“You do,” said Levi. “It’s there when your eyes look bluer.”
“What does it look like?” Eren was holding his breath, biting his lip through a curious smile.
Levi looked at their entwined hands in his lap. It was going to sound tender-hearted and romantic. It would fuel Eren’s absurdly sappy assertion Levi had a constellation on his shoulder.
He took a breath before quietly mumbling, “It looks like a comet.”
