2014 was not my year. I was working on my art/portfolio religiously along wth freelance and blogging (as was required of my job) during the day and worked nights at a job that helped both pay the bills and gave me the experience I needed to finally land my dream job, hopefully. Eventually my work at my night job paid off and I was given more opportunities that helped my career, but that meant I had to work on my days off. I was always tired and grumpy to say the least so sometimes I would go to the park by where I lived and enjoy life a little. This wasnt who I was, which made me sad but I would hold out a little longer for my career I would tell myself. One day I was scouted by two different large companies to be a photo stylist. My hard work was paying off! I interviewed with both, but found out that I would have to live a life that I didn't want. My heart and soul was broken. There I was at a crossroad and I had to figure out what to do with my life and my career. #fbf #2014 #artistlife #itworkedout (at Whetstone Park Of Roses)
Camara Obscura
This is my first ever picture with a camera obscura
I took out all of my day's frustrations on Cody in the shower, so, I guess you could say I found a solution for when my brain strays.
A brief look at a piece I am working on
I was searching for you.Â
6:23 pm on Saturday, October 12th, 2004. Sitting in my car in the Safeway parking lot, our designated meeting place. Frazzled, hurried shoppers rush from their cars to the store, barking commands to children and spouses. Minutes later they reappear, just as frazzled, only now with mountainous shopping carts. It occurred to me in that moment that I do not often intentionally watch people, like really watch, being aware of every detail--their mismatched socks, their wind-chapped cheeks and lips, their facial expressions. My reason for paying such close attention that evening was simple, really: I was searching. We had agreed to meet at 7:30, so naturally, I showed up an hour early. First date butterflies wild with anticipation made sitting in my car alone unbearable.Â
