u kno, i quite liked this ship until i saw it in game and then i was like. huh. that's a hot take ig. when's byleth gonna smack him upside the head and call him a dumbass

i feel like as a platonic/sibling-esc dynamic they have, uh, way more potential and I think people overlook that bc hurr hurr romance? it has a lot of pretty art though

☀️ — that’s what I mean when I said CONCEPTUALLY it makes for a pretty great ship actually, but the time skip writing just - ruins it for me. This isn’t to say I would completely ignore the potential of romantic, post time skip shipping with Dimitris on this blog, but it would have to be some kind of AU or major canon divergence for me to even consider it

and yeah, a very strong friendship is vastly overlooked, but tbh that’s pretty standard across all fandoms, not just fire emblem. The importance of close friendships and found family are often dropped in favor of romance, but I can see why romance tends to resonant with people more viscerally then familial / platonic bonds. writers like us are more willing to explore it because we have much more time to develop it, while romance is popular right off the bat even if it doesn’t make sense. 

and yes, the art is beautiful, and kudos to those artists even if I hate the ship.

             he ’ s  long  since  heard  about  the  ruins  of  garreg  mach ;  frightful  murmurs  in  dim  taverns ,  haunting  tales  in  nearby  villages .  ghosts  roam  its  halls .  the ruins are a  graveyard  itself ,  if  you  knew  what  it  looked  like  before .  (  he  did .  almost  every  nook  &  cranny ,  now  filled  with  dust  &  cobwebs.  it ’ s  such  a  sorry  state  of  the  monastery ...  he  doesn ’ t  think  he ’ s  felt  sorrow  or  guilt  hang  so  heavily  before .

             ...  or  until  now .  )

             “   d ─  ”  a  sharp  inhale ;  his  voice  will  not  falte r.  it  has  been  far  too  long  since  they  had  last  faced  each  other  (  a  whole  tragedy  passed ,   actually ,  a  whole  childhood  gone  in  a  blink  of  an  eye  ) .  “  dimitri ...  how  long ...  has  it  been ?  ”  since  duscur ,  since  he  had  hidden  here  in  the  ruins ?   everyone  had  known  the  crown  prince  had  gone  missing ,  &  yet ...  here  they  were .  a  ghost  &  a  dead  man  walking< b>.
