Chapter 7: Codename H & J
The ghost supported his body by planting his palms besides Yoongi's head. His knees were trembling as he was on top of Yoongi's body. The boy on the floor stood emotionless, with his eyes closed. Yoongi breathed silently as his blonde bangs fell towards the side of his temple. Jungkook, still nervous, continued to sweat as Jieun watched with an annoyed look. His earrings continued to dangle from his ears as he stared at the boy below him. Jieun stared at the two boys in front of her and Jungkook could feel her pressuring aura affect him.
"He's sleeping so why are you nervous?!" Jieun said with an annoyed tone. "You're not gonna make love to him you sicko!" "H-hey don't call me a sicko!! This is my first time okay?!?" "Oh gosh, you're taking forever! Yoongi told you to be calm!! You're lucky he's a deep sleeper." "Errgh fine... what's that thing you always said to me..." Jieun looked at Jungkook in confusion as he motioned himself away from the sleeping boy. The ghost was now sitting down in front of Jieun, thinking about something. "Back in middle school, you always helped me with my problems and stuff. You always taught me some ways about how to be calm and something like that? Erm.." "I don't know what you mean by that," Jieun spoke softly. "Ah!" The ghost clapped his hands and said, "Okay. It was pretty basic advice. 'Take deep breaths and close your eyes!! Hold my hand if you need to!'" "H-hey you lied about that last part." "I'm not lying! If you want me to enter Yoongi's body, you need to help me. You said you would, anyways." Jungkook smirked and Jieun moved her head away, blushing.
“You always said holding hands was a good idea for support. But you always pushed Yoongi so I could hold his hands instead of yours.”
“Oh, good.” Jungkook looked disappointed and Jieun giggled.
"A-anyways! I’ll do it. Only because it’ll make you feel calm. Gimme." She took out both of her hands and Jungkook moved himself closer to her. Jieun could hear the ghost take deep breaths as he held her hand. It's cold.. Contrary to Jungkook, he felt warm. His hands were cold, but as he touched Jieun’s hands, he felt a warm feeling in his chest.
As he held her hand, Jieun examined the boy in front of her. He was pretty good looking, and it made her wonder how she became friends with such a guy. His skin was milky white just like her's and it seemed soft from Jieun's perspective. Jungkook's facial structure was pretty nice; his jawlines were slightly exposed and his temple was on the same level as his forehead. His eyebrows and hair was nicely kept; his lips looked soft and small, along with a semi-prominent yet flat nose. She continued to stare at the ghost as he closed his eyes, Have I really seen this guy before?
"Alright." Jungkook opened his eyes and found Jieun staring at him. He tilted his head and smirked once more, "Am I that handsome?" Erk!! Okay, gotta play it off.. "Nah, just wondering that you probably became a ghost because you're so conceited," Jieun scoffed. She then turned her head and released her hands away from the ghost so she could hide her bright red face. "Oh, how harsh! Anyways, I think I'm ready." Jungkook turned away from Jieun and inched closer to Yoongi, who was still sleeping. The ghost positioned himself above Yoongi and closed his eyes once more. His breath and the ghost's were now on the same beat until Yoongi woke up. Jieun's room still had the same atmosphere: calm and quiet. When the Yoongi woke up, she felt a chill run down through her spine. She stared at the awoken blonde boy who seemed emotionless. He sat upright, stared at Jieun and blinked several times. Yoongi looked at his palms then around the room; he figured out that someone was missing. Jungkook was now gone.
Jimin's daily routine of tracking down his brother seemed a bit off today; he couldn't find him anywhere. He knew that at this hour, during the weekends, Jungkook would be outside the neighborhood walking past the convenience store's glass windows. He know how much the ghost wanted to be in physical body so he often stared at the glass window, in hopes he could see his body, but he could never see his reflection. It was quite pitious, but the Reaper didn't say anything. Two tall men walked passed by the Reaper in the neighborhood, carrying a large amount of grocery bags. Despite the warm whether, one man was wearing an olive beanie while the other wore a blue baseball cap. The figure with the beanie spoke as he walked passed Jimin, "We can all have dinner at my place, if that's okay with your family?" The man with a baseball cap seemed excited but defeated after, "Sounds like a great idea! Wait, ah no. Can we do it the day after tomorrow? I'm working overnight at the company later." "Yeah, that's fine. I mean, you did earn us a bunch of money for them anyways. And we have plenty of food!! Jieun and Taehyung will be so happy!! We even have meat!! So exciting!" Namjoon watched his best friend dance while carrying several grocery bags as they walked through Hoseok's neighborhood. "Hey! You helped me out with that mixtape of yours. SockH? What the heck is that?! I laughed at your codename so much, geez!" The two men laughed and the fairy-colored hair man continued to speak, "Seriously, Hoseok! I couldn't break that code without that CD. Your codes always helped me." "SockH was a cool codename! Yours was JamNoobs, so that's weird! Anyways, you know I'd do anything for you, him, and my family." Hoseok flashed his bright smile and his best friend did the same. Upon hearing these familiar names, Jimin quickly followed these two men in the neighborhood. Jungkook mentioned these people before.. what are their connections with us?
"Hey, Namjoon... when this is all over.." Hoseok said quietly. Namjoon couldn't quite hear what he had to say due to the rustling sounds of their grocery bags. "Eh, say that again? I couldn't hear." "After this is over, do you think he'll be happy?" The two men looked down on the ground after Hoseok had brought up a touchy topic. There was silence for awhile as the walked until Namjoon cleared his throat and spoke. "We're doing this for him. We're seeking justice. That corrupted man murdered his son, our best friend." Jimin stayed quiet as he slowly walked besides them. Although the Reaper was dead, his head started to hurt. He wondered why his chest felt tight; something was tugging him, something was bringing him down. "We were lucky to have his brother help us. After all, we're achieving the same goal. Well, I don't know his full story but we're getting help so that should be okay. We're near our goal to expose that jerk," Namjoon calmly said as they continued to walk. He rustled the grocery bags as he fixed it; he was carrying too many bags and it was falling out of his grip. Hoseok nodded; he no longer looked happy. He looked down and continued to walk along side of Namjoon, "We'll bring Jimin to peace. This way, he'll be okay. Hang in there Jimin." They were Jimin's best friends. He now knew what they were to him. But why are they connected to my brother's death... why did my memory of them disappear..? He felt a surge of pain and sadness within him and it made him angry. How could he forget his best friends that stuck with him through the hard times? After all these years, they still had him on their minds. Jimin positioned his scythe and hung it above Hoseok's head. He was ready to strike. The pain he felt, he wanted to release it on them. Jimin felt so angry that revenge was on their mind. Revenge was on their only option to solve his death. Revenge was the only thing they can think of. First, it was Seokjin; now it was their best friends. Jimin felt so angry that he was the cause of their revenge. He closed his eyes as he swung his scythe. SSSLLLLSSHHHH!!! Namjoon widened his eyes and stared at Hoseok. Before Jimin disappeared, he looked back at his best friends once more with a hurtful expressions on his face. The black cloak vanished within a second and Namjoon was able to catch a glimpse of it. One of Hoseok's grocery bag ripped open due to the overload of food. The best friends looked at each other and laughed. "Ugh, should have asked for another bag. That's what we get for hacking into a guy's files," Hoseok joked. Namjoon smirked and the two proceeded to put the food that had fallen out into their other bags as the crouched on the floor. The fairy-colored man was silent for awhile and looked up to see Hoseok grunting a bit. "Hoseok." "Yeah?" "I know this might sound crazy but..." "Hm?" Namjoon dropped the last piece of grocery item into Hoseok's non-ripped bag. He stared blankly into his best friend's eyes and spoke slowly, "I know I sound crazy but, I think I saw death right before my eyes." "...Huh? But we didn't go through, like, a near-death experience?" "He looked like Jimin. Like an older version of Jimin. But also.." Namjoon trailed off as he lowered his head. Hoseok could not see Namjoon’s expression since his baseball cap covered his eyes. He stared blankly on the floor, with his arms dangling on the side of his body along with the grocery bags. "Hey, what's happening to you? Maybe the long hours of work is affecting you?" Hoseok hurriedly put the groceries down to make sure his best friend was okay. "...There was a grim reaper. It looked like Jimin, too. An older version. Jimin was the grim reaper."
