02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness?
One might say he wears his insecurities on his sleeve. Ivan values his intelligence and what he thinks he has to bring to the table but is constantly afraid that he will be underestimated because he’s only ten or that he will remain not as tall as everyone else for the rest of his life.
So his hiding it is constantly putting others down for their lack of knowledge or observation skills. He also constantly flaunts how brilliant he is by using facts and figures and pretty much talking over anyone he sees as lesser in intelligence compared to himself.
13. What are your character’s sleeping habits? Heavy or light sleeper? Blanket stealer? One that always rolls onto the floor? Pushes their lover onto the floor? Sleep talker or walker?
Ivan takes naps throughout the day and when he does he’s a pretty light sleeper. He tends to be a still sleeper but before then he prefers to be bundled up really well.
20. Does your character like animals? What are some of their favorite animals? Would they want pets? What about mythological creatures?
Ivan doesn’t really care for most animals that much. He greatly admires felines for their independence, and respects elephants and octopi for their intellect
21. What is one of your character’s biggest fears? How would they react when dealing with this fear?
I think one of Ivan’s greatest fears is losing his best and only friend. Brad (HotIce) may not be up to his level intellectually but he was one of the few that ever took Ivan as he was and not as what was typically expected of him as a child or a genius.
Brad is very important to him and his life as a superhero, as a high schooler who was bumped up four grades, and as someone who grew up isolated from his peers. He needs Brad and potentially losing him would drive him to extremes to keep the person he loves and needs as safe as possible.
31. Would your character be the kind capable of killing? Would they enjoy killing or only use it when necessary or, perhaps, refuse to kill no matter what?
I don’t think he would like killing, but I think Windy is very capable of killing. Maybe not now because he’s only 10, but the potential is there.
Especially when one takes into account that despite being given this immense power he did not do much with it for quite a while and only took up superheroing because
B. His life was going to potentially be directly and negatively affected by supernatural threats
Ivan always finds ways of distancing himself from things and could potentially easily compartmentalize killing someone but he would definitely prefer not to unless it’s positively necessary.
