You know something I find interesting is that in the flashbacks we see Fiddleford giving the gun and a man using it on himself.
Meanwhile, as we know, Ivan is more “brutal”. He ties you up and he and the other members do the rest.
I can’t help but wonder if Ivan and Fiddleford indeed had different “modus operandi”. We have read that there are times Fiddleford used the gun without your consent (just ask those poor workers who helped with the bunker and Stanford) but maybe not always? Maybe in his cult leader era unless you pissed him off/he got too paranoid/he thought he had no choice he wasn’t as “trigger-happy” as we imagine?
do you guys ever think about how Fiddleford approached Ivan about the society of the blind eye when the latter was a teenager? like, that is so wild. Fiddle over here like some drug dealer from an 80s psa. don't forget to check your summerween candy! you never know when McGucket might slip an entire memory gun into your snickers bar!
Ivan himself is so wild to me. in a lot of ways he ends up following McGucket's character arc. down to losing his memory. like,,, guy is just walking around gf with no clue who he is. do the other society members even recognize him at all??
i'm very fond of those headcannons where him and Fiddleford had a weird codependent father/son mentor/apprentice relationship. there's a lot of interesting things you can do there.
i decided to make Ivan some kind of doberman/weimaraner mix. weimaraner for the coloring and their freaky eyes, and Doberman cause it was the perfect opportunity to do stuff w his ears
he had his ears cropped at some point after he joined the cult to seem more intimidating. but the thing about cropped ears, is you essentially have to "train" them to stand up. i thought it'd be interesting if after he lost his memory if his ears flopped again.
i think it works as a good visual for his character arc overall. i love putting way too much thought into my designs for these guys lol
guys are we gonna talk about blind ivan or WHAT.
i'll make a long post abt him later when i'm not busy but holy shit that guy is tragic. bullied teenager working a shitty job meets a mentally unstable scientist from tennessee who tells him he can fix all of his problems by erasing his memories (his version of alcoholism ig) and destroys this kid's life forever. literally like ivan joins his cult and ends up devoting his whole life to it.
then he loses his identity and ends up more of a husk of himself than he already was. he's ended up in the same place as the man who ruined his life. except that guy gets closure and a happy ending, and ivan just. disappears. yeah cool i can be normal about that
(I'M NOT A FIDDLEFORD HATER BTW. I LOVE HIM, HE'S JUST MESSY)

why can't I remember the dream that I had? wish I could go live in the dream that I had
they might be giants
How do you imagine Blind Ivan's life after S2E7 was ended? She received a new identity with a banjo, sure, but one of his cameo appearances made him look more miserable than expected!
My close acquaintance said why we should care about him, pointing out that he was evil, unlike other members of the Society. But recalling the scene above, I felt that I wouldn't be surprise if his dead body was found from a road.
Meanwhile, some people thought he'll replace Fiddleford as a local kook. Any ideas you can imagine about his future?
