How did Blind Ivan lose his eye?

He lost it in some incident entirely unrelated to the Blind Eye (irony!)

Bill Cipher or someone associated with him took it

Ivan took out his own eye to show his dedication to the Blind Eye

Fiddleford took it for the sake of the Blind Eye

(To preface this fiddleford is my favorite character and I love him so when I talk abt this im not doing this to go omg hes the worst character and I hate him. Nah I love him and his moral ambiguity.)

Hello. This is crazy if the memory gun is an addiction metaphor is this like a drug deal or the equivalent of meeting some kid and going "hey buddy, you have trauma? Omg, me too. How about using the thing I'm addicted to so you don't have to remember it?"

Like replacing the memory gun with literally anything makes this sound so much worse.

When the society of the blind eye was erased from Blind Ivan's memory it's possible he couldnt remember who he was because the society of the blind eye was who he was.
