I love Caine too but I do feel like some people are giving him way too much leeway for his actions and behaviour, like it's been shown in episodes 4 and 5 that if he just listened to the cast's requests they wouldn't be so critical towards him. His biggest problem isn't the adventures, it's that he doesn't listen to what anyone wants.
We don't know for how long they've been begging for change but, given the fact that the suggestion box had been completely forgotten about, it's definitely been a long time.
In retrospect, Caine is much like an abusive parent. He will claim he does everything for his guests but in reality, it's all just stuff he wants. He just wants them to abide by his rules, and he doesn't even really try to impress them because he gets really frustrated whenever they're straying away from his plans.
The humans aren't bad guests, they're not here by their own volition. They don't want to be here, they're not guests, they're prisoners.
I mean, come on. He literally tortured them and then went "Why do you people torment me!?"
Now, Caine is a tragic character, don't get me wrong. But the cast shouldn't be held accountable for any of this because they were never in his space out of their own will anyway. They "didn't ask to be born", in a sense. And instead of accomodating their situation, he forces them into doing things they don't want to do and if they don't, he punishes them severely and inflicts his wrath upon them.
It's extremely abusive, no matter what his intentions were.
I do still love Caine, I love villainous characters who snap and have anger issues, but he isn't a good person and, in my opinion, the cast is innocent.
