Spent today sewing and remembered why I don't do it much. I spend a good 50% of the time trying to get my sewing machine to actually work!
Its not like there's a video on YouTube for my specific machine telling me how to take it apart and check it. Literally the only thing about my machine is a pdf booklet that covers the basics like "how to thread it" like yeah, I can do that. What do I do when the plate keeps snapping my needles???
"If you get this issue w your thread your tension is too tight" it's literally on the loosest setting!!!
"You may need to add oil" ok bitch where???
Im seriously fighting with myself on buying a new one cuz thats literally what they want, they sell cheap crap that we have to replace every couple of years cuz we don't know how to maintain their cheap crap.
And I can't get a really good one cuz thats like $600+ and thats what I make in a week if I'm lucky.
With sewing machines, you do have to do maintenance on them to keep them running smoothly however there's literally nothing out there that can help and if you find 1 of the 3 people who do sewing machine maintenance and repairs in your country its about the same price as a new machine.
