How Many Days IVF Injections Are Prescribed

IVF treatment requires drugs usually given to the patient via injection either subcutaneously (directly into the fat under the skin) or intramuscularly (directly into the muscle). Depending on the specific treatment and cycle, a patient is given 1 or 2 injections per day; however, you must be aware that up to 10-12 injections may need to be taken approximately per cycle.

My found family are bringing me so much joy lately. My friend is doing IVF, her partner is deathly terrified of needles, and she’s currently not to her one remaining parent. So whenever she has a round of shots, she’s driven to my house every morning for the injections because I live closest (and my mum is a phlebotomist so she trusts me to execute them well.)

I really love our little mornings together. She turns up, we talk, I casually give her the IVF shot, I apologise for it hurting, she apologises for taking up my morning, I tell her truthfully that I love it, then we sit and have tea or water before she drops me to the station for work.

I cannot wait for her to be pregnant and it will make my heart so happy when she is, but I will fiercely miss our morning routine that we’ve practised to seamlessness and has brought us so close together.

You’ll find no one better than found family. This friend is the nicest, most generous and thoughtful person. A never forgets a birthday, always visits when you’re ill, turns up uninvited with housewarming gifts and offers to help you move, makes things for parties and weddings without prompt or payment, buys gifts that are so personalised and perfect, kind of person. I’m honoured to be able to do this for her and I really wish that I could do more. She has done so much for me across the years that it feels like a inadequate repayment. I know that she appreciates it though, because I’m her found family and she’s mine and showing up is what found family do best.
