Had surgery yesterday. Pre-op nurses were great. The one who started my IV (left wrist) was even on orientation, so, new nurse. Once I was under anesthesia, the anesthesiology folks decided I needed a second line? Woke up with one on the outside part of my right hand AND bruises in 2-3 other places where they must have missed. YIKES my hand is a mess AND the bruises hurt. Left wrist? Nobruise and you can barely see the insertion site.
