Studies
-
Sorry for the radio silence everyone. I had a health situation to deal with (and am still somewhat dealing with)… But, things are looking up and I’ve been getting back into drawing recently! Here are some studies of random pretty things I saw and took photos of.
I have also had to do some soul searching regarding my artwork. I spent a lot of time thinking about what it is that drives and inspires me to create, as well as what I want to learn, practice and create more of. Not sure what kind of artwork I will be posting in the future but it might look somewhat different than the stuff I have usually done in the past. I think studies (like these, as well as different ones) might become a common occurrence, though! Excited to see where my creativity takes me in the future!

Belisse fled her family dressed in silk and diamonds, mud swallowing the hem of her gown while the forest tore the rest apart. Behind her remained a house obsessed with perfection, a mother who treated love as ownership, and one future arranged down to the last pearl stitched into her corset.
Marriage waits with open hands and rotten intentions.
Ahead of her stood Cirque Sans Fin, a living thing made of velvet tents, painted mouths, prowling tigers, flying bodies, danger disguised as entertainment. A place where performers bleed for applause and love each other with their entire bodies.
Belisse arrives there ruined, terror still breathing down her neck.
Then Izhra chooses her from the crowd.
Everything changes after that.
A knife thrown at her throat in front of hundreds of strangers should not feel safer than returning home, but freedom reaches Belisse filthy, breathless, feverish, with the terrifying discovery that she enjoys being wanted for more than obedience.
Inside Cirque Sans Fin, people look at ruined things and call them beautiful, a place that hungered for girls willing to burn their old lives down and step smiling into the fire.
