Belisha Beacon was only in her mid-60’s, but between her old fashioned black frock and the scowl she leveled at her daughter, she gained a decade in appearance.
“Why are you wearing that ridiculous skirt?” she asked Melina, who was vacuuming but dressed for decidedly more exciting endeavors. “What kind of example do you think you’re setting for Liz?”
Liz, seated at a desk in her school uniform but ignoring the textbook in front of her, rolled her eyes. “Gran, I’m right here.”
“And you should be focusing on your studies to become a proper young lady unlike your mother.”
Melina was used to her mother’s sniping, but hearing it directed at her daughter was unacceptable. “That’s enough, Mum, don’t listen to her, Liz darling. Besides,” she said with a toss of her head, “Maggie likes it.”
Belisha snorted. “And where is that wife of yours anyway? Sleeping the day away and not lifting a finger to help you straighten up.”
Just then an alarm went off upstairs. Melina raised an eyebrow at her mother. “You know she works nights. Now shh,” she said as bunny slippers descended the stairs.
Prompt: Spring Cleaning
The Swedes and Finns have a long history of attempts at invading Finnland and general racism against Finns including stories that make the Finns into Draugr (semi demonic merpeople fae?) and magicians. Source: I’m half Swedish and had two of those stories in a book of Scandinavian Folk and Fairy Tales. Also you could totally check out the webcomic Scandinavia and the World for some satire of that history.
understandable have a nice day
iwilltrytobereasonable replied to your photoset: Anneke prevents a horrible mistake.[[MOR]...
I’m missing context. What mistake are you referring to?
The original plan for Two’s hair was a Harpo Marx wig.

Further, I know that Brian had only pulled it from The Miracle because it was too personal and at the time he didn’t feel able to make it a Queen track. He effectively gave it to Queen at the tribute concert, and there’s bound to be a story behind that.
It wasn’t pulled for being too personal, it was pulled because of legal issues with Brian’s co-writers. It wasn’t a Queen or even a Brian solo song, it was a May/Musker/Lamers song. Not sure how they solved that on Made In Heaven, but they had considerably more time then.
As for the rest, I’ve stated my opinion and I stand by it.
thanks :) i shall go make a phone call now
A gift of orchids
This was delightfully vague. I did some research, hopefully I got the flower meanings right. ~900 words.

oh, damn lol, didn’t expect real people :’) this is pretty hard because I’m not actually sure which one of you likes rollercoasters and/or has the nerves to go into the woods at night (I sure don’t)..
I’d ride a roller coaster with: @inconclusionray hoping that she likes rollercoasters? because I have no idea tbh.. I‘m personally only willing to go into ones that don‘t do a full looping and I’m also not fond of ones that have your feet dangling loose underneath your seat with nothing to brace yourself against.. if she’s more into venturing into dark woods and you’re more into rollercoasters I’d be willing to switch you two around :’)
I’d venture into the woods with (at night): uhhhh idk you generally come across as a pretty level-headed person? I’m not necessarily afraid of the dark itself, but I just don’t like to be OUTSIDE on my own in an unfamiliar place while it’s dark, but if I have someone with me who’s more calm/familiar with the area than me I might be okay (I’m mostly worried about getting lost/running into human creeps, so someone who’s less geographically challenged and better at defending herself than me would be the best option here, I have no idea if you fit that description but somehow I feel like you might)
I’d watch Netflix with all night: I really want to say @wagnetic here because I think it would be hella rad to just sit back and watch tv shows/movies with her all night while chatting or something, but she’s a lot more into horror movies than I am, so I would like to personally request we’d stick to due south/wilby wonderful/big eden and things like that instead <3
