Okay so I saw a twitter post basically questioning the choice to make Madeleine a Nazi sympathizer and tbh I was kinda confused too but was gonna leave it alone for now. However, I started thinking about it and my belief is that they chose that specific storyline to explain her loose morality??
Claudia is of course an older woman and even older than Madeleine however, she exists in a child’s body. Who could find love in someone who exists in a child body? Most likely someone who found love in a Nazi.
Like when you really think about…it makes sense. Because of Claudia’s condition, her companion (especially in a romantic context) would need to have some questionable morals/values to truly love Claudia in all her forms.
Now it’s a whole other question of whether the writers could’ve found another way to convey this cause when you look at their relationship in a racial context, Madeleine being sympathetic to white supremacist is…🥴
Edit: Okay rereading this and it reads as though I’m revealing something that’s pretty obvious 💀 but I don’t mean her morality in relation to Claudia’s vampirism (as this is a given) but solely in relation to her biology. Because if Madeleine is able to look beyond the horrors of a Nazi, it’s not too far fetched that she could look beyond the horrors of companionship and intimacy with Claudia whose forever 14.
Does that make sense? Cause like idk bout y’all but personally, I just could never see myself in her shoes like it would fuck with me too much. And I feel as though it sometimes doesn’t register with people how weird that would be given that Delainey is like 25 but imagine an actual 14 year old physique…even with her having an elder’s mind I just wouldn’t be able to commit, my morals would not allow it.
