WELL.
That was an experience.
I often contemplate how much I like a book as I’m reading it and about halfway through when I decided I liked this book I felt like I liked it about three stars worth, but I think it actually earns a four out of five. I can’t say it’s the best thing I’ve ever read (THE TYPOS, GOODNESS SAKE), but overall I liked it. It was slow going at first and I didn’t really get it but now that I have one book out of the way I can safely say I enjoyed it.
Some things were pretty obvious (COUGH NATALIE COUGH), and other things I found almost ~too elusive (re: shadow-kissed explanation, although in hindsight I’m surprised I didn’t realize what that was sooner). But I like Rose. And omfg Dimitri calling her Roza. (*´▽`*) And Christian. All the terms are still sort of annoying but I at least know which is which now.
Hmm. I don’t know, I guess it wasn’t anything like I really thought it would be so I was pleasantly surprised and I think that’s why overall it’s a four star for me. Worth continuing on in the series. We’ll see where we go from here.
HOWEVER, A PROBLEM: I NEVER REQUESTED THE SECOND BOOK FROM THE LIBRARY SO NOW I HAVE SO WAIT. *SOBS*
But secretly that’s okay because I have some other books I need to read in the meantime. I guess. Sigh. Liking books is hard work.
