~an update post~

Hellooooo. I feel a bit like I’m yelling into a void, given that I don’t think I’ve posted in maybe a year??? Maybe longer than a year??? Definitely haven’t posted regularly in longer than a year…Oof.

Either way hi, hello, if anyone is still around I am still alive (mostly).

I haven’t written fanfic in a long time, or even been able to invest in the historical research I love, which I’m genuinely sad about, but full time work, money worries, break ups, new relationships, new jobs, new living situations, the usual mental health struggles, severe executive dysfunction—I’m good now, most of the time, but for a while it really was a lot of treading water and hoping somewhere, somehow, it would get shallower and easier to tread.

I hope to be back writing something, in some fandom, somewhere, but just know that any and all messages, comments and queries I got during my unintentional hiatus really did mean a lot, whether I replied to them or not 💛

And really just hi! This may be a comeback, this might be me just popping in now and then, but I have missed y’all on tumblr a lot either way 💜

it’s the 27th of August 2022, which makes it 240 years to the day since the death of John Laurens.

Funny to think that a man who died so long ago could have had such a influence on my interests, my closest friendships and my creative outlets.

All that is to say, Merited Partiality is finished folks. It meets its (figurative) death on the same day its main character met his (literal) death. Poetic or accidental? You decide.

(Hint: It’s kinda both)

Hello hi hey I’m back here on tumblr hellsite dot com, I’m alive and I’m SO SORRY I HAVEN’T UPLOADED YET. Life has been extremely hectic as I’ve been scrambling to make sure I have a job and an income when my current contract ends…and health and relationships and neurodivergent struggles etc etc all getting in the way!

I have a half-baked idea to just wait now and upload the epilogue on the anniversary of a certain person’s death bc 1) it’ll be done by then and 2) gotta love the (slightly dark?) symmetry of rounding it all off that way…
