something about how izzy’s way of dealing with everything that happened to him is pretending that a shark took his leg and that it ‘served him right’ for dangling his legs in front of it. because it still lets him hold onto the idea that he deserved it all for provoking the kraken while also taking ed out of the equation

He now has chronic migraines and hand and wrist pain and I AM going to write him trying to repair his shirt and have an awful time at it because I need CATHARSIS😭😭😭😭

I think in season 2 Izzy should get his own extremely gay love interest who starts to fix him.

What I haven't decided is whether he should be a huge burly bear who just like, casually picks Izzy up one day while he's screaming at someone and rewires his brain; or a tiny, sassy twink type with an uncanny ability to gauge what Izzy's really thinking and feeling beneath the bluster that enrages and fascinates him by turn.

Either way, I want it to be someone who's very obviously and stereotypically gay (though obviously with far more to them that) so that as a friendship (and then more) slowly develops Izzy is forced to start confronting all that internalized homophobia he's got going on. He starts the work of letting it go for the sake of the friendship, and as he does it starts to make room for him to examine his own feelings: about Blackbeard and about Ed and Stede, about Lucius, about his new friend, and maybe *dun dun DUN* about himself!
