I remember you talking a little bit about the stranger things book one way or another; but I couldn't remember exactly what you said. So I was wondering what were your thoughts on the book? (At least I thought you talked about it/slash read it. If I got it mixed up with another one of your posts ignore this)

i've reblogged posts and answered asks from people talking about the book, but i haven't read it. by the time my libby hold came in, the show had ended, so it just felt pointless to read it 🙃 though i guess it could provide some insight into the potential direction the writers were going with stancy and give some stancy crumbs, plus it's nice that we have a nancy pov story (and the jon slander i've seen from it is the cherry on top). but the fact that it's tied to season 5 makes me not want to personally read it. the stuff i've seen from the book kind of makes this season even more frustrating, because it acknowledges that nancy has unresolved feelings and she's avoiding talking about everything with steve, and that's just . . . where we end things! yay!! love the lack of resolution!!!🫩🫩🫩

“Up and at em—come on, get up!”

The unwelcome disruption has steam coming out of Evan's ears before he even opens his eyes.

“Dude, what the fuck?” Evan groans and rolls over, rolling Barty with him.

Oh.

That's not fucking cool.

Regulus threw a pillow at his head. Evan bats it away which turns out to be a mistake because five seconds later, Regulus is shaking his shoulder.

“Busses are here. Get up.”

Evan's eyes fly open. “Fuck—really? Isn't it early?”

“Nope, you're just late. Get up, get dressed, we're out in fifteen.”

“I haven't even showered yet,” Evan groans. It's then that Barty stirs next to him clinging again to Evan's shirt as if whatever is happening is beneath him and not of his concern. “We'll get up soon.”

“Better.” Regulus tosses one more scrutinizing glance their way before leaving in front of a slamming door.

“Hey…” The renewed quiet makes Evan want to skip the whole tour just to stay right here. “Morning.”

Barty grunts and blinks his eyes open. Brilliant green catches the light of the morning sun spilling through Evan's window. Barty stretches without moving, and rolls so that he's facing Evan. “Didn't up and leave in the night?”

“And why would I do that?”

“Because you don't seem like a dumbass.” Barty's voice is rough with disuse and Evan desperately wants to taste it.

“You think it would have been smarter of me to—” Evan catches on and breaks off before finishing the question. “Oh, shut up, idiot.” He gives in and closes the gap, parting Barty's lips on contact. Their tongues roll against each other. It's not like the night before—hungry and desperate. It's slower. More deliberate. Tender. And Evan finds himself just as starved for it.
