oh my stars YES HI!!! they're deeply underrated books!!! i used to reread the first book all the time back in high school (and I need to reread the second; I just remember being so overwhelmed and floored by how much of a turn the whole story took and then so unsatisfied by the ending I've been scared to revisit 😅)

i think the political maneuverings in it are so fascinating and hardwicke is such a cool and interesting setting. and tess is a really fun character to follow and her dynamic with ivy is SO interesting. and then it also has asher, one of my fav jlb characters. I've been waiting for people to stop sleeping on these books so I love meeting other fans!! i was hoping them getting republished would lead to an uptick in readers so jlb would FINALLY come back and give us a conclusion and now I'm feeling so hopeful!

Sometimes I think "oh! But Tony went to visit them in The Raft" but then I remember he only did that to get information on where Steve and Bucky were.

In that one short visit he:

saw Wanda in a straight jacket and fucking collar

and did nothing. And proceeded to still do nothing even after he left The Raft.

Outed Clint's family to Ross, which not only is a massive security risk for Laura and her children, but also a major betrayal of Clint's trust. Not to mention the way he mentions them, which is to guilt trip Clint.

Oh and he also did not show any remorse for shooting Sam point blank in the chest, after getting Vision to try to shoot him down in the sky :) when he was not wearing armour :) Unlike Rhodey, who unfortunately got hit. Tony Stark does not even inquire about any of that.

when I say i'm team cap I don't just mean i'm anti-accords. in fact, the accords were terrible but i don't think putting restrictions on US governmental overreach is a terrible idea, keeping in mind that the avengers as a group are gov't) sponsored). i'm fully anti-tony stark in every sense of the word because he was in the wrong for that entire movie. he signed the accords because he felt guilty about ultron (his fault, btw) and damn the consequences for everyone else affected by them. he brought a 15 year-old into international conflict without explaining the real issues, only telling him that cap was in the wrong and using peter's trust in him as a weapon. he broke the accords as soon as he thought he had a good reason to. he was going to let sam, clint, wanda and scott rot in a maximum security prison for the same crime he committed. he shot sam point-blank in the chest after rhodey got hit even though he was the one who ordered vision to shoot sam down in the first place - rhodey was collateral. he went after bucky despite the fact that when he killed his parents he was brainwashed.
