40s!older!strawhat crew x afab!reader

this thought came into my head this morning so i had to write this real quick so ignore mistakes please and thank you!

been thinking about older!strawhat crew (in thejr 40s) who are all retired and enjoying their lives.

all of them are a bit more relaxed and not seeking adventures as aggressively as they did in their youth. they’ve all reached their goals, and are just basking in the success that they’ve finally reached.

they have semi-regular meetings where they all meet up and hang out with one another, and it almost feels like it did when they were all young, just starting on the journey.

while it’s never the same mixture or grouping, everyone always tries to make at least one meeting. regardless of how many years have passed, these people helped them in some of the darkest times, and were there for decades of their life.

this time it’s the original 5 crew members, all enjoying the relaxed company that comes with knowing people so long. they met at sanji’s restaurant, as the chef didn’t want to leave it for too long once it’s finally started drawing in a consistent crowd.

they’re exchanging stories, sharing drinks, engaged with the newest dramatized version of one of their old tales told by usopp, as a sort of silence fell over them.

they thought that they’ve done it all, had it all. this is all there is to life now. they enjoy their own lives, enjoy these moments and wait for the end to come.

they’ve come to terms with it, they’ve had more than their share of adventure, so if they live a boring older life, well it is what it is.

at least, that’s what they thought until you walked into the restaurant and immediately drew their attention.

you were sweet, smiling at the bartender that sanji had hand selected, seemingly oblivious to the various looks you received from people that littered around.

from the vip area on the second floor, they had a clear view of the skin your outfit showed, the shorter hemlines of the top and pants that you wore.

you were practically a vision, and a forbidden desire for them, for the most important aspect about you, is how you look to be half their age.

but as you turned around in your seat, surveying the restaurant while your drink was being made, you finally saw them.

the idea of reader, clark, and bruce finally starting to date, but before they tell the kids they catch clark kissing reader and kissing bruce separately!!! they all call a meeting and are like “dad’s cheating on mom !!” “moms cheating on dad !!” so they meet with the three of them to confront them about it and it’s awful lol.

those on reader’s side are all but coming across the table to tackle bruce. the ones on bruce’s side are just mean mugging reader. once they finally spill what’s got them riled up the three of you just laugh and laugh and afterward they’re all like “oh. that’s fine then, carry on”

okay, stop i love this idea, here’s some more tidbits that i think of that pair with this scene! thank you for dropping this in!

everyone is absolutely scandalized, to the point some don’t believe it and need video footage of everybody kissing to see it themselves and believe it.

after a massive fight that they all swear never to bring up again because of how ugly it got, they organize a dinner sit down. they actually give alfred the night out because they don’t want him to witness what was about to happen.

they all have small factions within the kids of what they believe happen. reader, bruce and clark were all feeling happy and content since you all started dating, and feeling more excited of enjoying a meal with your family. only to be super confused by the weird seating arrangements of the table and the kind of somber energy of the room. all three exchange a look, but go to their assigned seats. yes, they wrote down seating cards to eliminate confusion. (yes it was damian’s idea and he nearly drew blood when the others argued it was too much)

jason is firmly of the opinion that you did no wrong, in fact could do no wrong.

damian and tim are on bruce’s side, with conner and jon with clark.

it’s dick and cass that are sitting to the side believing that there’s something else at works here.

the kids are all stink eyeing the other adults and the other kids, silently judging. (how could you side with them)

“of course you would side with your dad” jason tells jon and conner, to which jon quickly retorts with a small frown but a firm voice,

“it’s not my fault i have a dad” his eyes stubborn and refusing to back down from the mysterious eldest. (jon really loves jason’s little white fluff of hair, and is definitely a fan of the fact that their names both start with ‘j’)

jason sighs seeing the kids face, “no it’s not jon. sorry kid.”

jon never really holds grudges so was quick to fix it, and move on.

“bullying a child todd? ridiculous.” damian pipes up from his end of the table, which dick shoots him a look desperate to not get further derailed.

“oh, should i focus on, how did you put it the other day? ‘a person unfortunately stuck in the body of a child’? were you just jealous and wanted some attention from your older brother?” jason teases damian back, a smug smile on his face at the look of fury that overcomes the youngest wayne.

you places hand on jason’s shoulder, sharing a look with him that tells him to settle down, before addressing the table, “what’s this dinner about? we love eating with you guys, but it’s normally like pulling teeth to get you all home for a meal together.”

the older kids face different degrees of feeling ashamed, knowing that they could make a greater effort to be around their parents.

eventually it’s dick that ends up having to explain to everyone why they’re there and it leaves each adult embarrassed for getting caught so fast in the relationship. you all agreed on waiting till you guys were a bit more developed and had some more answers that you knew they would ask, but it seems like that’s no longer a luxury that would be afforded.

the kids all blink and look a bit confused but they all just nod and continue on with the dinner. i’m talking, “okay. pass the potatoes tim?” energy.

which leaves the adults confused, but everyone proceeding awkwardly for a bit. it’s clark that ends up breaking first. “that’s it? pass the potatoes? the three parental adults you have are all dating and you’re all just accepting it?”

as if hearing what he’s said, he sits back pondering. “i guess we did a good job of raising accepting people.”

you, bruce and clark exchange small smiles before the silence is broken by cass.

“we’ve seen weirder.”

the kids all immediately nod, as small chatter and stories get exchanged by the older kids for the younger about some of the weirder and abnormal things they’ve seen in the hero life.

the adults instead all exchange a look of ‘damn, that went well but we also got dissed’
