Struggles, victories, and happiness. That’s what creates a storybook ending. It’s not about falling in love with someone the complete opposite of you or getting rich after being poor your whole life. It’s about having to go through tons of shit. Tons. Lots of struggles and obstacles, because that’s what life is. It’s about overcoming those obstacles and pushing yourself until you win. It’s about figuring out what you want and working to get it. It’s okay to break some traditions and rules to do that, as long as it doesn’t, like, hurt someone. It’s about being happy, about being satisfied with who you are and what you’ve done. I think that once you’re finally happy in life, happy with everything, you’re done. You’ve lived. You’ve gotten your storybook ending.

Edward and Kate lose their son Xavier on Christmas Eve, a heartbreaking event that puts Edward’s life at a standstill for twelve years. He meets Bella, a young girl who has her own demons. Nightmare Before Christmas is an amazing tale of getting over loss, going on despite tragedy, the gift of life, family, and love.

LyricalKris is one of those great authors who you know’s gonna take care of you once you start one of her stories. This fic was a great read. But damn did it make me cry. It’s Christmas angst, in case you didn’t guess from the title, and it is terrible. In a good way.  

I just really loved this story because it’s so sad but in the end, the characters pulled through and got the happiness they deserved. Even though I’d still like to give Mike Newton a good kick in the nuts, what matters is that Bella and Edward found love with each other. They understood each other’s pain, even if they were two very different kinds. This story was deep and sad and lovely and just ugh. I loved it a lot.

P.S. I think it’s best not to read this during the actual Christmas season. It’s pretty depressing. And a couple trigger warnings: infant death and brief discussions of abuse.

She knows collaborating with him in one video will boost her fledgling cooking channel's traffic as well. What she doesn't know is that views and subscribers aren't the only things Edward can give her. Looks like their shippers might actually be on to something.

Hey guys! So sorry I’ve been MIA on this blog. I hope most of you are still with us. We’re gonna work on emptying the inbox soon. Thank you for the patience!

I read Play, Pause, Repeat a few weeks ago and really liked it. In the story, Bella and Edward both run YouTube channels and go to Cornell University. Edward watches one of Bella’s cooking videos and comments on it—Bella sees it, and the smooth fucker somehow lands himself a date. It’s pretty cute. The story’s kinda short at 50k+ words, and it’s a really light read.

I didn’t give this story an A because, well, even though it’s pretty well-written for the most part, it wasn’t that magnetic or memorable. The YouTubers plotline is pretty original and cool, but that’s pretty much the only memorable thing about it. But don’t let that stop you from reading it! Despite me not remembering much else about what happened in the story, it’s still got a little place in my heart. If you’re a fangirl, I guarantee you’ll be able to identify with this story. When I read it, I felt as if I was staring into the abyss. A common thought I had while reading it was, “Holy shit, that’s my world.” One of the best parts of the story was definitely Bella and Edward’s shippers and just the social media aspect as a whole.

So there! I think this story would be a good read right after bawling your heart out for a long and tiring angsty story.
