Yesterday I made a banana cake with a middle layer of cardamom pistachio paste and a brown butter + pistachio buttercream on top 💖

Notes:
Cake was too similar in texture to banana bread, maybe cake flour or more flour in general would've helped. It also could've been a bit more banana-y, maybe add another 1/2 to a full banana. It also might just be specifically bc of the banana that it's texture is like that.
Cardamom pistachio paste was a little too oily, should've measured more carefully. Didn't need as much sugar, and actually, next time use powdered instead of granulated, I think that'll help the texture.
Frosting was amazing. I'd re-added water to the browned butter, and the frosting did seem like it either should've been colder or maybe less water added. Use heavy cream instead of milk.
Other notes, I think the cake would've been very good with a banana frosting, or a honey + black pepper frosting. The buttercream would be great on a lot of other cakes, but preferably something lighter or fruity. I think it'd be too rich otherwise.
Overall, 7.5/10 in my opinion 💕 would definitely make again.
