Official RO IDs!

This was the little side project I've been brewing for a while... now it's finally complete!

To give a little taste...

J's hair gave me the most trouble, but I'm happy with how it ended up looking ( ˙▿˙ )

The rest of the ROs are currently on early access on Patreon for paid members, but they will eventually go public on May 14!

High resolution portraits and the ID template are available for patrons. I also post progress updates every Saturday and do character side stories on Patreon if anyone's interested in that :)

Damn, now that is a strong start to an IF. For me personally within a few pages I generally get a feel for if I'll like whatever I'm reading or not, and believe me I've passed over a lot of IFs because of this, But, as for Lightweaver even though there isn't a great deal of content yet, it has me very invested already and that is because your writing is genuinely good, seriously can't wait to see where this goes. Can we get a few random facts about the Ros? if you don't mind?

So far, I’ve already established that there will be 3 ROs. I'll put some facts while listing them!

Luna/Leo Bancroft (gender-locked to MC's gender for plot reasons)

A fire weaver.

Loves gardening. It plays a big role in their character route. MC can choose to be interested in it (or not).

A huge cinnamon roll, but they're not afraid to poke MC's shell a bit while still being very careful of their boundaries.

Impulsive. Which sometimes does them good or bad.

Loves to show off their skills. They secretly love receiving praise, especially from MC.

Alice/Alec Langley (L's best friend)

A water weaver.

They enjoy duels and challenging situations. For a water weaver they can be quite rough!

An overthinker. Sometimes, amusingly so.

Logical and academic. But is still game for some good senseless banter. They don't pull their punches... except with MC.

Always has an icy look on their face, but really, that's just their resting bitch face.

June/Juno Patel (2nd year Launwyce student)

An earth weaver.

Intimidating. Always has a surly look on their face, and it's on purpose.

Animal lover. How MC handles animals will also play a big role in their character route. Seriously.

Loves taking care of someone (animals). But secretly loves being taken care of as well.

If you ask them if they're born in June, without a word, they will walk away.

Also wanted to say here that you don't actually have to romance any of them. I personally want their friendship and hate routes to be just as fulfilling! I honestly have so many plans for their route variations that I cannot sleep,,, This ended up being pretty long, oh well... I already have some character visuals for the cast, I might be able to finally make an intro post soon. (ﾉ´ヮ`)ﾉ*: ･

Judy had insisted that Dante and Emerald take a break and sleep longer that morning while she and Noah watched Hendrix. The baby had been ahead of his parents and was already asleep when she took over watching him, so to be helpful to her daughter-in-law and son, Judy decided to take care of her grandson’s laundry, and then fix some chicken soup with gluten-free matzah balls. It warmed her heart to see the various tiny garments while folding the light load.

Not too long after sending her husband to the store and therefore switching who had the child between the two of them, Judy mixed what ingredients she could inside of a mixing bowl. She kept Hendrix close by while beginning to chop some celery and carrots. Enamored by her grandson, Judy frequently looked his way with a bright smile; the most recent time she’d looked, however, she saw Emerald and grinned to the little boy, “Guess who’s come to join us?” She then softened her smile and asked, “Couldn’t sleep?” to Emerald.

Act-choo | Emerald & Andre

@lead-singer-emerald​ Driving in his Range Rover, Andre pulled up to the gates of Emerald’s home where he reached over to the passenger’s seat and pulled on the white dust mask he had left from his initial move to Portland and the minor redecorating he had done to his place. He’d felt fairly confident in his acting abilities and figured it was worth helping Emerald out, and also garnering an additional donation for his fundraiser--despite it currently being postponed. When he was let through the gates and was able to park, he got out donning a slightly weary gaze and pressed the doorbell, clearing his throat and feigning a solid-sounding cough.

I don't know if it's just me being too ignorant about how Tumblr works, or if you haven't written about it. But I was curious about the height of the RO's.

I love the fact we can be taller than every single RO (not all IF have this, even if they include height customization, and I love the idea of towering MC's a lot). Yet, I'm confronted with the doubt about the actual size ranges. For all I know, the difference between L and J could be like 6 inches or less.

But I also understand you probably have not said any specific measurements to leave it to the player to decide internally. Which is commendable. Yet my desire for precision persist.

Also, do the heights change based on gender? Like, a male J would be taller than a female J?

I'm also curious what would be, theorically, the minimal and maximum height ranges available for MC. Because sure, we can be shorter than L. But how short is L? And sure, we can be taller than J... But how tall is J?

Feel free to decline to answer, of course, I understand if you decided not to disclose this information. Is, after all, not truly important. Is more that I enjoy knowing the numbers, even though I have not real benefit from knowing.

I know this is super late... as with the rest of the asks I'm answering now - but it's totally fine!

I also love the idea of having a towering MC, like, a lot, a lot.

I did avoid using numbers bc the average height for u might be different for another - if that makes sense? The specifics are really up to the reader.

But in general, the height differences are roughly by half a head.

Something like this (including MC as blue and green):

Purple (tallest RO) > J

Red (shorter than J, taller than L RO) - A

Yellow (shortest RO) > L

Fun fact: I imagine Leo to be closest to Tom Holland's body type 🤓

But really, it can be further than that if you want. Their heads will most likely still have to bend a lot to look at MC (if taller or shorter) when I write the scenes 🤪

The heights don't really change in their gender counterparts, unless you imagine them to.

Difficult MC vs difficult J!

How does J react if the MC is austere against them, but with animals their actions are much kinder(but still austere in their face)?

The two of you are difficult for very different reasons. Sometimes, it's less of a struggle and more of a game of finding ways to interact without talking.

But all that ceases when they see you softening around animals, kneeling on grass and dirt, gentle and quiet; feeling almost like an entirely different person. The weight that usually paints the crinkles between your brow is gone, leaving a rare countenance of peace.

It's in those moments where J thinks to themself that maybe, just maybe, the two of you are more similar than they initially thought.

Room For One More | Em & Dante

There weren’t too many times Dante felt that he’d managed to surprise Emerald. There was the occasional purchase of her favorite snacks from the store, and when there were expected times to gift her, he was good about keeping quiet about what he got and made her. But while the two of them hadn’t really talked too much about Hendrix’s nursery, Dante quietly contemplated seizing the opportunity to surprise his wife. He’d started by considering whether or not he could successfully pull it off, and while the situation with her mother was a curve ball of stress that he sympathized for, he somewhat took advantage of Emerald being distracted to put his plan in action. The only other person he’d let in on this surprise had been his sister-in-law, but much to his own surprise, he’d been able to keep this under wraps.

Little by little through the start of winter, Dante had figured out a vision for the room, picked out and purchased paint, and ordered or found only a few items for the space thus far. He’d painted the walls and after they were dry, he’d added just a few accessories to the ceiling and walls. He’d left the crib and changing table inside of their boxes in case Emerald didn’t like it and needed to be returned, but after giving it a once over, Dante felt ready to reveal the space to his wife.

He slipped out of the room and made his way down the hall, calmly calling out, “Em?” a couple of times. “You busy?” Of course after asking that question, it seemed like a dumb thing to pose; if it wasn’t legal matters, then she was undoubtedly busying herself with their son.

Laying Low | Emerald & Dante

In his gut, Dante knew the idea of the crew and all of Emerald’s band staying holed up during the storm was not good. Still, he’d gone against his gut feeling when talking about it with Emerald and agreed on the condition that the guest house wouldn’t be occupied. So, for most of the past week, Dante had been back at essentially living there again and primarily caring for Hendrix while Em and her band filmed their show and dealt with the production crew.

Misty’s mix of excitement and guarded behavior had her barking often, which made getting Hendrix down for his naps a challenge. He had just laid Hendrix down in his bassinet when the sound of the door opening automatically ignited Misty in a series of protective barks before she’d actually known who was coming in. Dante tried to no success to get her to stop before Hendrix awoke again. Sighing, he picked his son back up and tried to settled him down again, softly shushing him while rubbing his back. He cut a weary glare at Misty--who was no longer barking--and then slowly paced around the room, humming a lullaby to help calm their little boy.
