rick is often a target once people clock him as nonhuman because hes made of incredibly valuable and rare parts. Jay looks so innocent and unassuming that they are usually underestimated and can get the jump on anyone messing with their rick. It doesnt always work out and they get hurt but it matters very little to them so long as android is safe

For c137 morty, i usually use she/they but its not strict :)

For jay i use she/they! Jay is more traditionally feminine in appearance and a lot of mortys in the citadel developed a crush on her. She has a sweet appearance and is very innocent looking, which she uses to her advantage when fighting

how did jay end up with android rick without an actual rick?

This could change later, but the current idea is that jay’s original rick is kind of a huge jerk. Just a really terrible guy. He created android rick to replace himself so he could abandon his family. He didnt make android to keep them safe or whatever either he made android to pacify them and keep them off his back

It becomes complicated when you consider that android IS rick j-778. He has his memories and everything j-778 has done is something android also “did”. The fact that android rick stayed and became a better person means that j-778 could have done the same. Its as if he split into two realities, one where he left and one where he stayed

It went against androids meticulous coding to even realize he was an android (who knows how long he was one? He didnt even know he wasnt j-778 for a long time) but he was convinced the family he had come to love and care for and change for would hate him because he wasnt their real rick. But when jay found out they didnt care. Android is still rick, just the version rick that stayed and grew and became a good person. Thats why ive been drawing nice stuff of them :) its rlly wholesome they dont care if hes not “real”
