MEMORIES

Dubai is a city I have come to love, one that fills my heart with love and fondness. I have left the wonderful cold Easter in London and said hello to the warm beautiful sun in the Arabian Desert.

Driving from the airport I caught myself smiling and sometimes laughing out loud no doubt to the driver’s bewilderment. It’s amazing how quickly time goes by. Over a year ago I was here for a totally different reason, it’s the same beautiful city but a different time. The place in time I think of so fondly I can never go back to, but I have been blessed with beautiful memories. Memories that make me love Dubai.

I read something online by a man who simply signed his work as J. Johnson. I have no idea what the J stands for but the title of his quote was “never take anything for granted”. This is something I struggle with on a personal level, always planning for the next thing rather than stopping and taking in the beauty of where I am now. I find his words fitting to the nostalgia I feel being in Dubai, and maybe someone reading this post will find truth in them also.

“Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory”.

 “Memories in principle are some of the most important moments in our lives bottled and up and served to our minds on occasion. Never be a stooge and try to make your future as similar to your past as possible to try and match the memories of old. Alternatively, take time each day to make yourself better in one way or another, drawing from your past experiences and memories, in an effort to make the best future for yourself as possible.

 Also, be sure to live in each moment, because the important moments we live today can only be experienced in a physical manner once. Though there will be memories later, shoot for not having any memories that are full of regret.

 Remember that though the past will never completely die, you can still make big changes in your lives by jumping big hurdles, and conquering the huge challenges we are able to be faced with.

 Never take a moment for granted, and try to see the value in every moment”.

There are some people in life that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little brighter, and just live a little better.

When you encounter the people who make your laugh a little louder, and smile a little brighter, be sure to keep them around, because eventually they will make your life a lot better than it used to be.  Those who are able to keep the vibes positive at any given time are the people who will help you to build success in your life. A good friend may not be your blood family, but will always be like family in the sense that you can find comfort in their presence.  Before your real friends you are able to be yourself, and act as you really want to act, speak as you really want to speak, and not be judged or condemned for it.  Remember that not everyone will always say the right things, but they are most definitely better friends than those who refuse to even come around.
