There are a lot of stories about what Hollywood actors get up to, especially the elites. So, I think it’s wise to be cautious of any celebrity that you admire, and be aware that it’s always *possible* that they have been involved in, or witnessed and stayed silent about, something(s) a person might find distasteful or upsetting. Just like people in our own lives can be up to all kinds of weird things we don’t know about (and are none of them are really our business unless they hurt someone), celebrities can very easily be into things the press never gets wind of. That, or the celebrity has great PR to keep things quiet.
However, if you’ve come across nothing that indicates a celebrity you enjoy (the general "you") is up to, or tangentially involved in, anything shady, then I think you should feel free to enjoy them. Just don't make them your idol, your whole personality or somone you worship, or tie up your self-worth and metal health in. That’s just the healthy way to engage with anyone, but strangers you admire in particular. If it turns out they were into something you’re against, then you’ll be free to move on without it being devastating to you. We can’t know what we can’t know about a person, but if you see red flags, or have a gut feeling that someone isn’t "for" you, then trust your gut.
As a side note, I wouldn't be surprised if playing with some of the dark themes Jared has on Supernatural has had an impact on his mental health at times. I don't necessarily mean by something "latching onto him," but whatever your beliefs, we do attract vibes with our actions, but more than that, an actor's body and brain can’t really tell acting from authentic when emotions are strongly involved, so you’re still putting your body and brain through the wringer, even though it’s acting, at times. All of this said, I would never downplay Jared having an actual medical condition like depression as saying it’s only from acting, or acting on Suoernatural, but it could be possible that the show has occasionally had an additional impact.
With all of the news that is coming out about celebrities and public figures all of the time, I am very cautious about admiring any of them myself. (This is also why I want cut people out of my life or die on any hills in support of politicians—too many ofthem are up to too much dishonest crap behind the scenes, regardless of political leaning). I truly enjoy Jared and Jensen. I wish them the best in their careers and lives, and I’m thankful to them for playing Sam and Dean, and making themselves comparatively approachable to fans at cons abd such, in ways that they’ve brought me comfort at times. But, they work in a world full of back room deals, abuse, and nepotism. I always enjoy them, but keep present in my mind that there might be a day where I stop engaging with their content if I learn something unpleasant. But, it doesn’t stop me enjoying them right now.
All I can say from my experiences meeting the cast mentioned in this ask is that Jared and Jensen either care enough, or are courteous enough, to work to make sure fans have nice experiences when meeting them. That says something about their character. Jared, in particular strives to connect with people while he’s talking to them, which shows kindness and curiosity. Even if he’s not as interested as he acts, he’s making the effort for fans to feel seen. Jensen responds well to seeing you show consideration to others he’s with, and can take a light ribbing with good humor. They are either genuinely decent (not perfect) guys, who appreciate their fans, or they were raised well enough that it’s ingrained in them to act that way.
Misha, in my experience, is arrogant. He’s also dismissive of fans' interest in the show or characters, not doing them the courtesy of bothering to respond thoughtfully, respectfully, or in any way but disengenousky to their questions (unless they can be tired to grifting about destiel). I did one photo op with him and Jared. In that moment, Jared was a sweetheart, full of good humor and appreciation for my op idea. Misha was fine. He was a good enough sport to do the op, but also a little judgey. If that op was all I knew of him, I’d think he’s okay, but nothing special in terms of fan engagement. But, I had the one meet & greet experience, and it showed me what I needed to know (the evidence to go with the rumours). Also, his charities are very sus, and imo, he takes most of the cut for himself. I think he’s a bit of a scumbag.
Anyway, sorry this got so long. But, I wanted to add what I've experienced with the actors in question, and how I’ve felt about these actors, as someone who is also cautious about Hollywood and the type of people it can breed. Dark things do happen behind the scenes there, no matter what people’s personal beliefs are, and the higher people climb the fame ladder shows they are either incredibly lucky, incredibly hardworking, incredibly well-connected, or compromised to get ahead, sometimes all of the above. Caution never hurts when being someone's fan, and all people are fallible (especially celebrities who have a need for attention abd get surrounded by yes men), but if you have no evidence of bad stuff going on, trust your gut.
