Delhi Belly

If you enjoy roadside food and have been through tummy trouble episodes before, then you will definitely enjoy this movie! With a very Guy Ritchie like feel to it, this movie did not let me touch the munchies I bought before entering the hall.

 Well made with a good story line and good acting, Delhi Belly exceeded all my expectations. Abhinay Deo's direction was flawless. It was truly an engaging and humorous movie with no unnecessary music tracks. Ram Sampath did an awesome job with the music. Especially the remix of K.L Saigal's song. Saigal blues 'Duniya mein pyaar jab barse, na jaane dil kyun tarse' was the coolest song to have begun the movie with! Truly unusual but awesome sound track. 

Imran Khan has machofied his chocolatey boy look in Delhi Belly with his stubble and beard. The cool tees he wore and one particular pair of shades was really eye catching. Shehnaz Treasurywala who was irritating in one of Himmesh's movies did a very good job as well. Really liked her hair colour. Vir Das and Kunaal Roy Kapur were really hilarious and their funny one liner delivery was spot on! A line that I'm gonna remember the rest of my life was the 'Did you wash your ass with my juice' line! Poorna Jagannathan turned out to be a really cute and smart journalist girl and she carried off that particular look real well. Liked VJ Anousha's brief role in the movie and the item number she did as well.

Few things which I'll never forget about this movie. One of them is the loose potty poured onto a velvet napkin instead of diamonds. Gross but hilarious! Another was a firecracker-bomb stuffed up Vladimir's bum. And not to forget the awesome song Jaa Chudail! Things like that song is what we imagine in our heads somehow wishing it would turn to reality. And yes, how can I forget, "I hate you, like I love you in brackets"!!!

Before going for the movie, I read up somewhere that Delhi Belly was a sex comedy but it was no way like the American Pie series which can be considered to be a benchmark series in the sex comedy genre. Delhi Belly was much more than a sex comedy. The story had a wonderful weave to it with a very international heist movie touch. Overall, really enjoyed myself at the movies today. Wish they would make more movies like Delhi Belly for people like us who know how it is to always step into trouble! Bhaag bhaag DK BOSE to Delhi Belly this weekend!!!
