Pichal peri from Asian folklore.
Pichal peris are said to roam the mountains of India and Pakistan. They are said to be found in the Himalayas, though it occasionally enters some Indian villages. In Pakistan, sightings are usually reported in the rural mountainous regions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, however sightings in the Punjab province are also occasionally reported. People who claim these reports are usually elders of rural villages who are known to hold superstitious beliefs, it is possible that people in Punjab have taken inspiration from their northern neighbours and made their own versions of the legend. The characteristics of the pichal peri vary depending on region.
In some versions, pichal peris appear in the woods at night and target lone men. Most stories will have the victim escaping as these are usually told by people who claim to be first hand witnesses. It is believed that pichal peris have two forms. In most stories they appear as beautiful women in order to lure men and get exposed only due to their backward feet. In some cases witnesses claim to see the female form transforming into a tall demonic creature.

The churel is a malevolent revenant from South Asian folklore, particularly that of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Always female, they are generally said to be born from women who die during childbirth or pregnancy, or those who have been killed by the parents of their husband.
Churels are naturally hideous, but can change their shape, turning into beautiful women in order to lure men into the woods. There, she will consume their life force, either killing them or leaving them as withered old husks.

"Bana do. Paan bana do." Everything. This character is everything. I haven't enjoyed someone on screen as much as I enjoyed Badi Bahu. She's all kinds of fucking feels, man. She's goals. If you've watched the movie, and if you know me even a teeeeeeny tiny bit, you'll know what I mean. And who is this goddess of an actor who transforms so effortlessly from Bulbbul to Badi Bahu? I particularly enjoyed her casual, subtle but effective FUCK YOUR PATRIARCHY depiction. (Of course I did.) Dayyyyum son, that performance hit the spot. . . . . . On a slightly separate note, I told @paatshala today that I have a cosmic bond with all things Bengal. That's the only way I can explain this...this thing. ♥️ . . . . . . . . . . #NotAReview #Bulbbul #BadiBahu #PaanBanaDo #Burn #DamnGirl #Women #StrongWomen #PowerfulWomen #Diva #BloodMoon #Oppression #IfNotOppressedGirlsWillFly #Goddess #Devi #Maa #KaliMaa #Chudail #Demon #Witch #ThatHairTho #RedSky #KillThePatriarchy #Bengal #Kolkata #Netflix #Horror #IndianHorror #HorrorButNot #FuckYourPatriarchy . . . . . @tripti_dimri @anushkasharma @netflix @netflix_in @netflixmena https://www.instagram.com/p/CCMQqmVpKJU/?igshid=1ul5x9e7cl2qm
