“What?” I was running on coffee and endorphins, so it didn’t register at first.

“I know you don’t have any plans for winter break,” Jack said flatly with his hands in his pockets. “Come home with me. Stay with my family.”

“What are you talking about?” I huffed. “I have plans. They don’t all revolve around you.”

“What plans?”

“I’m staying with Eric—”

“I asked him about that. Eric’s family is going to Paris, and you’re not. Pretty good lie this time, though. Not bad.”

“Boyfriend?” My voice came out quavering. “What do you mean, b…?” He didn’t answer me immediately, because he backed me into my wall and braced himself on his palms, all but pinning me in place. Have I mentioned he’s, uh, way too tall? The same shadow that enveloped me cast itself over his Devil’s smirk. “You heard me.” “'Boyfriend' means he’s gay,” the demon in my head explained to me like I’m five.
