Old Crow Medicine Show - Jinglin' Jack Guy (OCMS XMAS; Hartland Records, 2025)
Off of their recently released Christmas album, Old Crow Medicine Show honors Jack Guy, the man from tiny Beech Creek, North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains who devoted much of his life to preserving and teaching traditional Appalachian music and culture. His shop, Jack Guy's Folk Toys, would make toys that your grandparents and great-grandparents would play with: limberjacks, flipperdingers, gee-haw whimmy diddles, to name a few mentioned in this song.
Easily became a new favorite song for the season.
