Dear Scallawags,

I bring to you another sea shanty, a Canadian Classic and a famous piece of Canadian history.

This song has a special place in my heart as I used to spend time on the very lake that claimed the boat known as the Edmund Fitzgerald. It’s calm and serene but is one of the scariest bodies of water I ever been on.

It’s a scary place, Lake Superior and the song aptly warns all that it can take sailors in a heart beat.

Gordon Lightfoot has a special place in my heart too, as I grew up listening to his songs get played on the radio. And let my tell you Nostalgia ™ is one heck of drug.

Alrighty, so today I have an absolutely soothing banger for you. 

Created by the Scottish band “Boards of Canada” released in 1998 on the band’s first album “music has a right to children”.

There is not much to say about the track that could not be experienced from just listening to it.

Shout out to those who hear the “hey” as warped version of Navi from legend of Zelda. It reminds me of when the fairy says, “Hey Listen!!”

I have a relaxed jazzical banger for you today. 

Brought to you by the inner machinations and possible engine fueled by blood magic that is Youtube’s recommendation algorithm.

This song resonates with me on a particular level as I have been cheated on in past relationships and this has helped me live with the hurt in a small way. It helped me understand that I wasn’t cheated on because of what I didn’t give or who I was but instead that these things happen and it’s not a reflection of who I am. Instead, it’s just another event for me to move on from and be better person.

I haven’t got much to say about this one, so I’ll leave the song to speak for itself.

I know it’s practically habit for me to associate music with a sick event in my life, and I promise you that’s exactly what I am doing right now. 

SO! A prominent memory for me as a young miscreant was play Need For Speed on the playstation, and that...that is what changed me into a road daemon. And it helped bring me out of the closet for being a rebel in general; spray painting, parkour, skateboarding, messing with devices and causing mayhem was who I was and still am.

Lena actually has some less than fond memories of me being behind the wheel, but I was young and reckless then, now.....I am still young and reckless just not with other people in the car. 

The real street thugs will know about this one.
