Some friendly reminders from your pals in the service industry
we gain literally nothing from lying to you.
It is literally our job to assist you. We are not your enemy.
If you have a service animal, we are not allowed to ask what your disability is. We ARE, however, allowed to ask what service the animal is trained to perform.
Unless you're talking about rent, ESAs ARE NOT SERVICE ANIMALS. Same with therapy dogs
In several states, restaurants need completely different health standards or procedures if they're hosting animals indoors. If the restaurant says 'pets only outside' it is often for health reasons. Especially considering allergens in enclosed spaces.
Most restaurants have websites. Often with menus on them. With descriptions of all the dishes. Also often with explanations of what menus are at what times. Sometimes, they even include policies on reservations and events. Please do a thorough check of the website before going unless you literally wander up. It saves everyone time.
If the restaurant has a long-ass voice message before letting you talk to a person MAYBE LISTEN TO IT.
Waitlists are not there to make you suffer. If you see open tables and are on a waitlist, that means the servers are too busy to give you good service. And we want you to have good service.
Please don't move tables without asking. And if the answer is no. It's probably no for a reason.
