Impromptu World of Dungeons: Highlights
Many thanks to c-d-eand jackares for playing World of Dungeons on short notice! I sent them into the same situation (with a few tweaks) I've used in the past when playing WoDu with my ESL students, and it proved equally fun (and rather faster paced) with native speakers. Highlights include:
Talin (jackares) using a skewered goblin on the end of a pointy stick to fend off the goblin warchief's attack
c-d-e taming a sickly imprisoned owlbear by feeding it the bodies of its goblin captors
The PCs bargaining for a pig in addition to the silver originally offered them...and then later deciding to fed the pig to the owlbear in continued attempts to tame it
The magic dagger found in the pile of garbage and refuse in the goblins' barracks chamber
The disruption of some unholy goblin-ceremony presided over by a goblin shaman, who managed to escape
Talin, reaching 0HP, accepts a offer from Death to perform a service for It in exchange for an extension of his life.* The promised service: to deliver the magic dagger to one of Death's servants, who will be made known at a later time
c-d-e using the dagger, which reacted to the goblin's ritual circle, as a compass to find the way back through the thick forest in the middle of the night
*For future reference, the "Death" move from Dungeon World is canon in all of my World of Dungeon games. It's just too fun to not include.
Since I'm GMing Cyberpunk Fate as well at the moment, we're going to leave this as a one-shot, but I doubt we've seen the last of these adventurers...or their feral owlbear pet.
