i think part of the reason other attempts at Classic Horror Literature in your Inbox have failed to achieve the same success as Dracula Daily (other than the format of Dracula in and of itself being super well suited to the whole thing, which, really, is the MAIN reason) comes down to the protagonists.

like, the one I've seen the most is Frankenstein which is a pretty decent choice but the problem inherent there is that Victor Frankenstein is a massive prick.

So rather than "My good friend Jonathan Harker is telling me about his business trip," it's ends up feeling more like, "this pretentious fuckwad I sat next to in chemistry one time thinks we're friends and won't stop bragging to me about how he's mommy and daddy's specialest genius and so good at everything."
