Soooo... I decided to get Paralives, and...
Guess who moved to the town.
One of the endings I briefly considered for "Secrets and Riddles" is Patricia taking blame for pretty much everything to protect Jacob and Helena (and even Merula). And even though things don't really add up, the Ministry is like: "Well, she insists she's guilty, and we're not gonna argue with Rakepick, alright". So she spends some years in Azkaban, but then there's the big escape of the Death Eaters, and Patricia is like: "Ok, I'm done with it", and so she escapes as well.
Shortly after that, she finds out where Jacob lives. And one late evening, when he's reading, he suddenly hears a knocking at the door. He opens it, and he sees Patricia.
"Hello, Mr Ellis," she says with a sly smirk.
He smiles broadly and says nothing for a while. "You came here because you had nowhere to go, or you just missed me?" he asks eventually.
"Maybe both."
And then later it turns out that nobody looks for Patricia since there was something sus about this case anyway, so whatever. The war is over! But Jacob and Patricia keep living together in semi-hiding because "we tried the world, good God, it wasn't for us".
And only Helena starts noticing at some point that someone might be watching her. But weirdly enough, it doesn't feel threatening... Almost as if they were just checking if she's fine. So, one day, just before leaving the meeting with her brother, she adds:
"Oh, tell Rakepick I said hi."
A (very) little something something because November 23rd was Jacob’s birthday – and I miss the affair of Queen Patricia and General Jacob.
Jacob stands up and goes to pour the water into a chalice. His naked body is lit by the fireplace. Patricia looks at his face and then moves down. She stops a little longer on the scar on his stomach. He comes back to give her the chalice, but before laying back down, he adds some wood to a fire. After that, he finally slithers in under the bear's skin cover and embraces her, closing his eyes blissfully.
“Are you warm?” he murmurs.
“I’m always warm when you're by my side,” she replies teasingly, making him smile. She pauses before continuing more seriously. “Would you still be here if I weren’t a queen?”
Jacob opens his eyes and looks at her intently. “No, I don’t think I would,” he says after a while. She’s surprised, but she says nothing, so he goes on. “If you weren’t a queen, and your parents didn’t rule before you, I don’t think I’d join the army. I’d probably take over my father’s inn, so by now, I’d be back home after a long day of work. I’d lie in my bed, hoping it didn’t snow too much at night… fire crackling gently in the fireplace….” He stops to caress her cheek. “And you’d be next to me. And you’d be my wife.” His face brightens up after the last words.
She chuckles softly. “Oh? And what would I be doing the whole day before that? Helping you at the inn?” she guesses.
“Hm, no, I don’t really see that…” She gives him an inquisitive look. “ But I think you’d be an amazing teacher.”
She snuggles against him, taking a moment. “I like this picture,” she says quietly.
“So do I”, he whispers as he turns her on her back to kiss her.
Jacob lies with his head on Patricia’s lap as she keeps stroking his hair. He opens his eyes lazily to look at her. She watches his face, a bit absentmindedly, but with a gentle smile.
“Patricia?” he says suddenly.
“Hm?”
“Marry me.”
She smiles more broadly, her fingers still running through his curls. “Why would I marry you?” she asks casually.
“So I could call you my wife.” She chuckles but says nothing. “Fine! I’ll take fiancée for now,” he sighs theatrically.
Patricia’s hand slows down, and she gives him a closer look. “You’re already calling me your wife”.
He reaches for her hand, resting on his chest. “So let’s make it official.”
Then she gets more earnest and her strokes finally stop. “Are you seriously proposing?”
Her question hits him with a huge impact, and he feels a wave of panic. Is he proposing…? He didn’t think about his words, they just came to him when he was the most vulnerable. Not that he ever complained about this kind of vulnerability, but he just now realises the importance of the whole situation.
“I don’t know… It depends…” he replies carefully. She raises her eyebrow. “What would be your answer…?”
“Yes!” she says, laughing softly.
His blood starts rushing through his veins even faster. “Wait, really?”
He has to be failing miserably at hiding his nervousness because Patricia looks at him sceptically. “Well, your reaction kind of makes me reconsider…”
“No, but I’m serious!” He squeezes her hand. “Would you say yes…?”
She doesn’t reply right away, but instead, she leans down, cups his face and kisses his nose. “Yes,” she almost whispers.
Jacob stares at her and then quickly gets up. “You really want to get married?” he asks in disbelief.
“I mean, if you do… then yes,” she replies with a smile. Jacob beams and gets closer to kiss her lips. “So, is it a proposal after all?” she adds with amusement when they part.
“Absolutely not,” he says sternly. Patricia frowns, but he continues before she can comment. “I have to prepare to propose properly.”
“What’s not proper right now?” she chuckles.
“First of all, I’m not even kneeling…”
“It could be changed,” she interrupts him teasingly.
“No, it has to be special…”
She laughs again as he kisses her. He’s not sure if he’ll be able to think of something special enough to express his love for her, but it’s a problem for later. And even if he fails, he’ll have their whole life to try and do better.
I know I said I don’t see Jacob and Patty getting married, but…
… wouldn’t it be funny if they started calling each other husband and wife just because, and people just accepted it eventually, only to find out at some point that, in the meantime, they actually got married in secret?
(I also might have an idea for a cute pre-proposal scene.)
I was housed by your warmth, thus transformed
By your grounded and giving and darkening scorn.
Remember me, love, when I'm reborn
As the shrike to your sharp and glorious thorn.

I have no context for you for that. Admittedly, I had one situation in mind while drawing it, but I decided it’ll be better to leave it unspoken.
I had a not-so-great week, so I was looking at my old content as a distraction, and I decided to do what I was actually thinking about for a while: I want to thank anyone who ever showed any support for my Jacob x Patricia content.
@indigobackfire and @sirenwave – who always show interest and are very sweet. You’re probably the reason why I started posting this content. I appreciate you both so much.
@thedoodlecat – because I want to let you know again how much I value our conversations.
@dat-silvers-girl – because I wasn’t expecting that you’d like it and your reblogs were such a nice surprise.
@ag907 – because until this day, I think about your comment that you were concerned about this ship at first but enjoyed it after reading more about it, yet I never really let you know how much it meant to me.
@wannabeeliana – because it was very unexpected and very sweet when you sent me that ask about their future.
@captainfoxus – because even though your continuous support is mostly silent, that one comment about Hozier and Florence was so spot on.
@heleneplays – because even though you don’t go here anymore, you showed me a lot of support in the past, and it will always mean a lot to me. I might’ve not been where I am now with my content if not for your reaction to “Scars”.
And anyone who showed quiet support through likes and whatnot.
I also want to make it clear that the support for Jacob x Patricia does not mean more to me than other kinds of support. I’m grateful for people often showing support for my other art. I’m grateful for all people enjoying my theories and analyses. However, I wanted to make a post for Jacob x Patricia in particular because I was actually really nervous before posting about this ship for the first time. But then, it turned out that there are people who enjoy it, and it was so encouraging! And on top of that, I want to thank people who don’t enjoy it or simply have no interest in it. Because I know this paring will never be popular or for everyone. Yet I never got any negativity from people who follow me for different reasons. And I think it’s very cool of all of you.
Anyway, please don’t feel obliged to anything because of this post. You don’t have to respond or react. I just wanted to say thanks.
I love you
A late Valentine’s gift for myself.
Disclaimer: Proceed on your own responsibility. While there’s nothing descriptive and it’s not much more explicit than saying: “They autonomously chose to woohoo in the shower”, some things are implied, and if you know, you know. So… you know. But other than that, it’s mostly Jacob being just endlessly in love with Patricia!
