everyone and their mother is twogaty pilled platonic or romantic and thats totally fine but god we need to collectively think about basketbot. for me your favorite jack. the way basketball spent so long making her sole purpose defending her best friend when everyone else was overlooking her and even Proving her point about mechanical minds being a subconsciously disregarded and disposible minorty to most objects, to the point robot flower was hardly treated as anything more than an annoyance to everyone despite the fact her entire life, her personality, her relationships, were all overwritten and replaced with somone elses, but bball literally never gave up even as she was hurt and beaten because she KNEW that wasnt who roboflower really was, that this was all because of a desperate attempt to be loved by people the way the "real flower" was, all culminating in basketball basically signing her soul away to the devil and then giving THIS LOOK when she saw robot flower finally herself again

despite knowing she is now doomed by a figure shes seen time and time again, more than anyone else, swoop in and take contestants away, often never seen again, and she Knows one isnt to be trusted, but shes sent back and the first thing she does is give her best friend a hug

like oughhrghh. gawd. and then it all comes back to her when shes erased from Existence, and the situation is mirrored as now robot flower will remember her but have no way of bringing her back even if she tries and tries and kicks and screams. lol. lol!!!!!!!

there is a lot in tpot 18/bfb31 that quite genuinely doenst add up with anything timeline wise, like characters being in specific places at specific times where it would be genuinely impossible, locations being entirely wrong, characters being in a group interacting when they physically could not have. the entire episode REVOLVES around time travel and focusing on small details, and the fact that they went OUT OF THEIR WAY to provide INCREDIBLY specific times for things makes it seem to me that this wasnt just a series of random mistakes within the same episode.

most notably, pencil, match, and bubble are in the bfdi era part of goiky...in august of 2013. where they either wouldve actively been driving to yoyleland, or match would already been eliminated, as bfdia 5e released on august 1st of 2013.

we already know for a fact the episode is meant to APPEAR as low stakes while also setting up some very important arcs, what with x being there, fours being specifically shown and focsued on as someone who has genuinely changed in terms of how he treats objects-setting up why he didnt go all out against pencil-and the memory exploration device itself being almost the same as the one pencil is given in tpot 20.

another notable detail is the tpot setting having the complete wrong color pallet, something that actually remains consistent through almost the entire episode, aside from when loser enters fours memories.

these inconsistencies are present only within the characters memories, and considering four seems to be the only ones whos memories actually maintain consistency with how the timeline actually went..

my friends and i have proposed the idea that we are actually seeing the effects of pencils timeloop via the memories of the characters, as they werent present for tpot 15, and would not have been granted full knowledge of the correct timeline by one. these inconsistencies are a result of pencil changing the past, something wed only see by glimpsing into the past. via memories! a fun bit of foreshadowing in a low stakes episode.

the fandom has a tendency to treat Three like shes dead and gone and that One is on some epic journey to save her from Being Dead, like shes doing bad things to achieve an ultimately morally grey goal of saving someone she loves. people act like Three has No autonomy, and act like shes utterly unaware of what happened to One and would neeever approve of it. The fandom tends to both idolize and tear down Three for her actions, like everyone is swinging back and forth between hating her for betraying One and at the same time loving that she ever cared about One at all when the others didnt, or at least not nearly as much. One is both Threes best friend and worst traitor, in the fandoms eyes.

but like. three isnt dead. shes literally right there, shes just Disabled. she isnt without autonomy, we know she is free to roam the EXIT, which is clearly built with her in mind, with adventures to go on and places to see, she CHOOSES to stay in the jail-and yeah that is indicative of a greater problem for sure but the point here is that she Has The Choice to do that and she Chooses That and she isnt trapped in this one part of the EXIT. frankly i think a big part of why four is so against the others exploring out of the classroom is Because four is protective of Three and her ability to explore as she wishes (even if isolating her/encouraging her self isolation is ultimately more damaging.) and she literally knows about One, shes the one that that wanted her gone..because she was both worried for ones clear spiral and because she didnt want her friends getting hurt. which was immediately proven right.

ones "journey to save three" isnt even About Three at all, its an excuse for one to be vindictive, self righteous, bitter. for her to isolate other people and go "now YOU know how it feels" even if they Literaly Already Knew, or if they had never even Met Her. its for her to "punish" her ex friends for not being kind enough, or hearing her out seconds after she killed the core of their friendgroup. she wants to prove thar she was right all along, that she is morally superior and the true victim, like this is some shitty drama where the one beaten and bruised gets revealed to be correct and in power and laughs at those who wronged her. she Does care for three, she Does want that friendship back, but she barely cares about Three as a perosn or what she wants. (not wantED. WANTS. shes still alive!! and she will Not Like Hearing About This Revenge Spree!!)

i think the biggest thing that makes it clear to me One doesnt have anyones best interest in mind but her own, despite what the fandom insists (which btw we Do have a character who does the wrong thing for the right reason. ITS THREE? she bettayed ones trust but she did it for the sake of all of her friends!! bad thing, good reason !) is the way she treats two and gaty. she saw that two had a close friend and immediately did away with her. gaty had nothing to do with one, and two wasnt even There when she was sealed into the moon. two is also Actively trying to get rid of their powers, so it wouldnt have been hard at all to get them. they even willingly lend them to four. the only reason One targets gaty and two is because shes jealous and vindictive and it seems a lot of people dont get that?? or that her cause is nowhere near as selfless as people think. (like . say what you will about four but they clearly Do care a lot about three. dont you think they wouldve tried to reverse the issue by now if thar was someone three activelt wanted? and dont you think one would Know that three would hate evrty single part of this if she knew?)

anyway the reason im rambling about this is because the fandom sees One's journey the sane way One herself does. ONE thinks that this is a path shes taking-doing bad things for the right reason, that everyone rlse is barring one and three from being together romeo and juliet style rather than Three herself pushing one away, giving other characters their just desserts, etc. i think its interesting that once One was relatable enough a lot of the fandom slot themselves directly into her world view, and decides she was AT ALL in the right for Literally Any Of It.

sidenote, im obsessed with one and pencils relationship and have been 5ever and i think its so interesting that one insists that pencil is uniquely relatble for lashing out at her friends and being isolated like One was, when pencil is actually a closer parallel to four than anyone else. a lot of the issues pencil has that bare similaritly to one..are situations One herself put her in!! girlie shaped pencil into being as bitter and angry and Lonely as herself and then went wow so relatbale Girl youre the one who did thaat...

i hope at some point an algebralian who isnt three is legitimently excited to see one and know shes okay and i hope this breaks her.

it cant be the end to her arc to be clear it cant be the thing that makes her go woah killing bad and im redeemable after all. in fact i need it to make her WORSE i need her to know someone cared and she rejected and probably also continued to hurt them. i need to see that shes so sunken in to revenge and vindication being just Who She Is now that she doesnt even care about being lonely anymore. despite all the bullshit one has pulled shes arguably still very understandable and empathetic and like im not saying that has to stop i just want to see a moment where someone offers their hand and she just bites. because thats not who she is anymore. not who she Gets to be. please for me your favorite jack?

GOD FINALLY SOMEONE ASKS THE RIGHT QUESTIONS. enough "does four care about three" debate like yeah no shit he does. this is so much more intersting to me FUCK. like he has a habit of wanting things he cares about to be exclusive and just Theirs and not to share, and unfontunatelt for three she is in the exact position that would fully allow four to just . do that . no one but four and x get to visit her bc no one else is even Around to, and like how nice is it if one of his best friends can truly realsies just be His with no one to question it?

like idk idk idk i think a lot of the reason hes so adamant the exitors stay in the classroom Specifically without venturing out is because he doesnt want them stumbling upon three-which i think is the genuine implication for reals like u cant convince me that the drawings of the playground+numbers Werent Done By Three..which like . four put a lot of focus on the drawings specifically and how he didnt want them messing with them. like there was no feasible way that couldve been part of the escape plan he just didnt want them messing w the drawings. and like so part of that, i think, is the fact they want to Protect her, and dont want to upset her or stress her out...but its also maybe also a lot about the fact he doesnt want to Share her either. two assumedly didnt hear that four and x have three, and four probably . wouldnt wanna tell them. and even if he did i doubt he let two visit.

its not actively malicious, he cares about three very deeply. but it doesnt have to Malicious for it to be Harmful. in his head (lol) he is absolutely doing this for the better of three, she gets to chill tf out and play adventutes forever without anyone to bother her..! and i am of the opinion she thinks this is for the best too. but all its doing js like enabling her to isolate herself and do nothing but ruminate and spiral etc etc Whatever grips head . i think about them a Lot. four cares about her 100%. but he also cared about bfdi and its contestents and we saw what he did to them. we know for a fact that in the end four Does care about two, a lot. four even went out of his way to check up on and take care of them. didnt stop him from berating them. he did it because he cared but all he did was add to their pile. hell, we know how he adores clock specifically, and four is notably jncredibly possesive and overbearing to him.

and most relevantly, we know he Adores x. that is his best friend and partner in whatever the fuck sense of the word you want. and we see how he treats them, even at his best . like i jsut rghghhhgghrhrhggghh smiles . smiles

lightbulb was literally the only one in s1 to not make any actual friendships and at the veryvery start of season one shes clearly only a part of hotel OJ because they dont have a real reason to exclude her, instead of because shes a particularlarly important part of the friendgroup. up until "mazed and confused" she continues to not have any real connections to her teamates despite her constant efforts and is even constantly ridiculed and dismissed and is #tbh just as lonely and bullied as mic, she just doesnt show how it effects her. its only after "alternate reality show" does Anyone realize shes actually Insanely clever and observent, and shes only granted the kindness of someone Actually taking her (USUALLY VERY SOLID) ideas seriously when Most Of Her Team Is Gone.

IN THE NEXT EPISODE shes killed by mistake and, despite her two closest friends (and suitcase) witnissing it, no one even Bothers to ask mephone to revive her. At All. shes only brought back in 'hatching the plan' Unintentionally due to mephone glitching. and then, in the same episode, test tube actively decides she alone gets to go to save fan, as if he isnt lightbulbs first friend and now she has to worry about Both of them. (and then for all the scenes back on earth, shes just. in the background. pacing nervously. the other contestents dont include her in their discussions nor does anyone check up on her :[ )

skip forward a leetle bit and fan, test tube, and paintbrush are in s3, while lightbulb is still back at the hotel-meaning she has nearly a whole season of inside jokes and conversations to be left out of. (how long did it take for someone to tell her about bot? she was certainly the last of them to know.)

for season four, she isnt there when test tube falls, and while that is clearly not something they Planned, shes also the Only of the core four Lights to NOT have seen fans fall, and they assumedly havent even told her the full truth of his state, considering she was in the crowd of people wanting to know if hes okay.

so like what im saying is that lightbulb is such a Lonely character whos existence practically Revolves around the fact shes constantly excluded, forgotten, and ignored, and its so tragically ironic that this aspect of her character is often..forgotten and ignored.

also this is like half a theory half me loving tragedy very very deeply, but something i noticed is the fact that..well, again, fries has a Unique connection to EL. he's repeatedly shown as one of, if not THE, only character who has a positive view of her. he genuinely seems to consider her a friend!! in turn, EL notably Does seem to be just slightly less harsh with him. we have literally 0 indication she cares about him, but we Do know that if given the choice between killing him or like. someone else, she Does prefer to leave him alive. which is veryvery interesting to me!! so my halftheory half headcanonfic is that, if evil leafy really was sealed into the mountain, fries was the one to bait her in.
