The great thing about Jackparse is that Kent WOULD be delusional if Jack processed his feelings like a normal human being but alas!

Kent's just like, he's had me blocked for 6 years but I know he's still in love with me, and typically you'd just be like Yikes, but THEN Jack "I'm Being So Normal About Hockey" Zimmermann compares their relationship to fucking HOCKEY and then just. Never speaks of it again. While also calling Kent by his incredibly tender teenage nickname and immediately making out with him the second they're alone together.

And so you really have no choice but to accept that that wild bitch is right. He maybe deserves condolences for his taste in men but Kent Parson stays winning!

there are some great pimms wips out there right now that I feel like people should be reading more! so, I’m gonna rec them for anyone following me who might not know that they’re out there!

twenty-four hours in buffalo, new york by @queenofthestarrrswrites - established Jack/Kent (reconnected as of the same author’s wonderful Olympics fic), Kent reckoning with the realities of retirement and a life post hockey.

angeles by @impalerswift - another one where Kent’s dealing with life after hockey but a very different story where Kent is struggling and Jack is trying to show up for him and oh boy, does Kent not like or appreciate that. I’m not usually one for fics where Kent’s career is ended beyond his control so I think it really goes to show how wonderful Sina’s writing is that I’m so into this one.

there’s a joke somewhere and it’s on me by @aristocrating - the pre-canon Pimms fixit au that you’ve always wanted. This fic really gets into how Jack tries and fails and so in some cases does not want to try to gel with the Samwell crew, his beginning years pre-canon, and it comes with an interesting, fleshed out crew of side characters in addition to Shitty and I just really love how Marina writes the interpersonal dynamics here.

Retrograde Motion by @amandayetagain - post canon estranged Jack/Kent where Kent has amnesia and doesn’t remember anything since before the draft. Drama ensues!!!

And then to be super selfish, I also have two!

pull me by the ankles - this is a sequel to “we could live for a thousand years” set during Jack’s first season with the Aces as Kent deals with the growing pains of finally having everything he’s ever wanted and not really knowing what to do with the reality of it bc oh boy, is that scary.

2 most wanted - aka the Jack is cheating on Bitty with Kent all throughout years three and four fic. Did you ever find yourself reading years 3 and 4 and thinking to yourself, “man, Jack wouldn’t fucking do that???” Yeah, me too. This fic deals with that and also has a bunch of fun messy Pimms hookups.
