     secret conversations in hushed tones aren’t exactly something out of the ordinary ---what with the kind of business they’re in. what is unusual is the fact that jack had been sharing in those whispers with a man she’d never seen before ---and whatever they’d been discussing had seemed intense. intense enough that she’s pretty sure she should’ve been privy to it. 

     she’s been on edge as of late, sure ( some might argue that anne is always on edge ), but they’re still partners, they’re still on the same crew, and they’re still supposed to be in this hell together.

"I'm acutely aware of why you're here, Rackham." Flint shot back, baring his teeth in misplaced annoyance. In his opinion, Rackham was ultimately only after glory and recognition, rather than any true identification with the cause. He sat forward a little, a little more sarcasm coloring his tone. "As is everybody else."

It was unmistakably Jack - the narrow frame adorned with the long coat of far finer fabric than the rest of the men around him, and in far richer colours. Even after all the time that had passed, he’d recognise that figure in any crowd. He had no doubt that Anne would be lurking nearby, or perhaps on their ship - she was never too far, and he doubted that had changed in his absence. Pausing in the doorway of the establishment, Charles considered his approach.

He’d have to explain himself, of course. The last anyone had seen of him was a corpse, and it had taken a great deal of planning to keep it that way. He had known, from the moment of his capture, that a death was necessary to strike up the rebellion, and only his would suffice. He had been fully prepared to go through with it, too, willing to give his life for the cause - but clever minds had other ideas. It hadn’t been an entirely comfortable experience, and he’d needed the time to recover from it, and even now he wasn’t entirely sure how they’d managed to pull it off. But here he was, back in Nassau once again.

Few who remembered his face remained here, he had been assured - and those that did were unlikely to make mention of it. It was, he knew, the right time, the best time, to make his return. Drawing in a slow, deep breath, he made his way across the room, until he stood mere inches from Jack’s back. 

“I hear stories, of you chasing treasure.” He began, voice low, but loud enough to be sure to catch Jack’s attention. “I don’t suppose you’ve room in your crew?”

Drinking was a mistake. Drinking was a mistake. Drinking was a mistake.

Eleanor squeezes her eyes further shut, head throbbing from the sunlight piercing red through her lids from the window. She can feel the warm body under her but doesn’t dare to move for fear of waking the person.

Who had she slept with now? Her mind instinctively goes to Charles, but as soon as that thought crosses her mind, she knows that isn’t it- the body pillowing her head doesn’t feel or smell like him. Her fingers spread over the chest– it’s flat– and her heart leaps. She’d slept with a woman? But then her probing fingers don’t close around soft breasts.

Oh god, who is this? She opens her eyes and pushes herself up, and horror fills her veins. Of all the men to have a drunken night with, how had she landed up with her ex’s best friend? Fuck, fuck, fuck…

Something glints in the morning light and she squints. Her stomach drops.

She’d not only slept with Jack Rackham, but it appears she’d married him too?!

James.❞ It was unlikely, that the rumours he had heard were true. That pirate sounded nothing like James, like the man he remembered. All this bloodtrail, this war that lead to nothing...❝You might know him as Captain Flint. I am...an old friend of his. My name is Thomas.❞

Whereas John Rackum, George Featherstone, John Davis, Andrew Gibson, John Howell, Noah Patrick, and two Women, by name Ann Fulford alias Bonny, & Mary Read, did on the 22nd of August last combine together to enter on board, take, steal and run away with, out of this Road of Providence, a Certain Sloop call’d the William, Burthen about 12 tons, mounted with 4 great Guns and 2 swivel ones, also Ammunition, Sails, Rigging, Anchor, Cables, and a Canoe owned and belonging to Capt. John Ham, and with the said Sloop did proceed to commit Robbery and Piracy . . . the said John Raceme and his said Company are hereby proclaimed Pirates and Enemies to the Crown of Great Britain, and are to be so treated and Deem’d by all his Majesty’s Subjects.
