One of them was produced from a pocket in her glove, offering it to Onyx. “You know, when everything is crashing and burning, sometimes, messing around with a knife makes a lot of things easier. Even if all you do is throw it. Or mess with the mechanism.”

(( @shootie )) Silver missed his coat. That was what he told himself. It was his coat that he desperately missed when he sat awake at night, not even trying to sleep but too exhausted to move on. It was his coat he missed when he walked with his arms crossed to avoid the sensation that might've come when something brushed against his hand, a familiar gesture– It was his coat he missed, of course. Which he had been loaning Trip when he just walked away. His shirt alone was chilly, and the texture felt wrong when he crossed his arms. He didn't deserve to miss his friend after having hurt him like that. He saw him first, of course. In a crowd. Light hair, bright colors, foreign-looking amongst all the Johtoites all around. But he owed him at least the dignity of pretending not to, he supposed.

They hadn't seen one another since she'd left Team Galactic (or… since it had fallen), almost a year ago. Over a year ago? It was hard to keep track. But when she knocked on the door of the office, a familiar smell alerted her something wasn't right. Didn't Ingo have an aversion to alcohol? He'd turned it down whenever she'd offered… Out came Deimos, back arched, ready to fight whoever was inside, just in case. The door was unlocked… “Hello? Who's there?”

Right, so… clearly urgent. “I'll meet you in front of the Pokémon Center, I'm flying.” Whoever this Maria person was, she obviously had reason to believe N was in danger. And if he'd called Spark for help with that… It was only a few minutes before they touched down. The exhaustion from a summoning this early in the morning barely registered as Spark waved his friend over. “N. What's going on? Who's after you?” ϞϞ @nharmxnic ϞϞ

The nearest Wally is here, he's getting a hug from his longtime crush, and he's completely befuddled by the circumstances. But he’s not complaining, either. 

“Hey… May? What's wrong? It's, uh… hey, don't cry.”

She was visibly anxious, not even stepping in through the door before she started talking. “Look, I'm… Jared, I'm really, really sorry. What I said wasn't fair. It was wrong. I was wrong. About you. And… I don't really think that, I just… I snapped. And came after you.” The flowers were pressed into his hands now, making as if to leave in a hurry. She was wearing gloves with her indoors uniform, an unusual thing, and the fingertips were stained green. “I'm not asking you to take me back, but… just… don't think whatever I said was right. Okay?”

Despite the culture of Nassau in general, he tended not to drink to any level of true intoxication for the most part. Not least of all because he disliked his decision making being compromised, and could ill afford it. But everyone had bad days, and his bad days tended to be all eclipsing. 

Upon waking up to a skull splitting headache, James huffed an annoyed breath, fingers pinching the bridge of his nose briefly before he even considered opening his eyes. Waking in an unfamiliar bed-- and he knew it was unfamiliar from the instant he’d clawed his way to consciousness-- was an even rarer occurrence.

Fractured memories of the night before filtered their way through, and when his eyes opened, they turned out to be truthful. How he was going to retract his arm from beneath her without waking her was beyond him. It wasn’t going to happen, so instead he simply gave a gentle shake of her shoulder, not at all looking forward to the conversation that would inevitably follow.
