Last year, Jackson's life changed completely, and he's still unsure if it was for the better or for the worse. He fell in love, he broke a heart and in return had his shattered, and he became his worst nightmare. This year he's having to carry on dealing with the consequences of his actions from the previous year and even though he's had time to dwell on both his past and what is going to be his future, he still has doubts in his mind about who he's become. He's trying to not let his doubts grow into anything more than that and is continuing to somewhat reluctantly serve the Dark Lord. Ignoring his doubts will make them go away, at least that's what Jackson thinks, and he hopes that this year he can just accept his fate and future without anything or anyone making him doubt it even more.
