Loud bangs rang out one by one getting closer and closer to the group yanking everyone out of their shocked trance. The wind outside picked up blowing the curtains around a broken window.
“Shit…” Liv watched the circle of salt Jackson had carefully drawn out start to blow away leaving a gap in their protection.
“We’ve got to start gluing that shit down…” Dawson grumbled taking a step outside of the safety of the circle.
Suddenly the room fell silent. Nothing could be heard except the soft breathing from the crew.
"Dawson I don’t think you should have -”
“Shh..” he raised his hand. “Do you hear that?”
He took slow deliberate steps into the other room. Soft cooing calling him farther and farther away from the others.
Liv cursed “Didn’t you two do any research on this house before coming?”
Jackson looked over at her his eyes wide. “W-we couldn’t find much.“ he looked between the two women panicked. “W-We thought it was only a myth.”
“You mean you didn’t do a simple Google search?” Jane piped up.
"Well he said that everything we needed would be in the library.“
"Oh he’s about to get a piece of my mind..” Liv growled taking out her flashlight. “Dawson!”
She made her way to the back door stepping over broken chairs and chunks of plaster. It was amazing to her places like these still stood after so much time. Did nobody think to tear them down? Fix them up? Anything but let them rot and fester.
