Headcanon: Valentine’s Day
Around the early hours of Valentine’s day, when her kids are asleep or she is completely alone, Kimberly will sit and watch her wedding video from her first marriage. Although she is divorced, watching one of the happiest days of her life actually gives her some comfort. It reminds her of the better times, despite everything that came after, and lifts her spirits reliving what she and her ex once shared - for despite their separation, she still holds Jacob close to her heart.
Does Kim ever drink at Kole's bar?
No.
Because Kole would totally act like her big brother and not like a friendly bartender. He’d lecture her about drinking responsibly and all that crap and really put a damper on her mood to drink. He’d also make her drinks less alcoholic than they are just to be safe, which she would obviously pick up on. True, Kole gives his sister a hard time for shits and giggles, but at a bar it’s purely because he’s watching out for her. Also, he’d scare away any guy that would try and hit on her, which she wouldn’t mind to be honest but she’d act it out as if she were upset by his over protectiveness.
And there’s also the fact of her ex-husband working at the same bar. Despite getting along with him and having a good relationship as friends, it’s still awkward for Kim to see him on a basis that is more than just dropping off or picking up her boys. And it would extremely uncomfortable for her to see other women hitting on him. She may not be in love with Jacob anymore, but she still loves him - and how could she not? They had their good times, happy memories, and they share two wonderful kids together. So there would be some jealousy there.
Headcanon
Although they are divorced, Kimberly and Jacob get along quite well. Yes, their separation wasn’t pretty but through all the bullshit with Joles, the ex-couple started to mend their broken relationship and turned it into a good friendship. It seems as though they were meant to stay friends, despite genuinely loving each other in the beginning and after their children were born. Neither of them regret their relationship because out of what they had came two beautiful and wonderful sons. Though they don’t talk or see each other a lot (only when it is either one’s time with the boys or they are both at a gathering, etc..) they can be seen to acting civilized with around each other.
Within the last two years, Jacob has a new girlfriend named Monica. While Kim is happy for Jacob and she genuinely likes Monica, there is a bit of jealousy that Kim keeps bottled inside; however, Kole - who is also best friends with Jacob and probably the second reason (after their kids) that they are friends - knows about her feelings. But out of respect for Kim, he keeps his mouth shut (for once).
Song I've been writing for awhile, will have distortion in the next few days, still needs some solos.
