HI, I'm Jacob

Dreamscaping My Future
When I started my membership in the Internet Lifestyle Network I started to ask myself, if I could design a “lifestyle” to live that would maximize my potential in life, what would I choose? So i went through a process built on a three part foundation that breaks down into more threes. You start with taking into account the past, present, and future of your life so far. Introspection is the best way to make effective changes in your life. Every day you get the chance to make better choices, so start thinking.
Your past has built the person that you are, but at the same time the past consists of only memories. These are basically illusions of our ego and don’t exist inside of the present moment. This will bring your attention to the belief systems that work inside of your mind. Every expectation, preconception, and assumption you’v ever made was based on something you’ve experienced in the past. So you can start to see how the concept of “your past” can be quite limiting in life. How can expect anything new to come into your life when you generalize everything into a previous experience?
Now you think of the present. Where are you? What are you doing right now? Why are you doing it? These questions should synchronize into an overall goal or intention if you’d like to be successful, but alot of people (me included) have wasted time in the present because I didn’t have a clear goal or intention in mind. It took me the better part of four years to find what I really wanted to do in life. After I graduated High School, I found myself with a handful of talents, low self-esteem, and a shitty fast-food job. My lesson was this, if you do not have a path set for yourself, someone else will set one for you. Making plans is always worth it, even if they don’t work out they will guide you somewhere.
The future is my favorite part. You can go anywhere, do anything, at any time, with anyone. The things you focus on in your reality are what you attract more of, so I like to picture in my head all of the things that money will buy me in the future. I’ve heard some people ask me where the wonder in life is, but they’d never tried anything. The wonder is in the search of what you find wonderful, whether or not you get what you were searching for doesn’t really matter. So why not wish for everything you can imagine? There is way to much on this world, and in the entire universe to ever get bored with what you find. You just have to know how to look. I spend every day saturating my thoughts with what I want out of life, why I want it.
If money weren’t a problem, how would you choose to live your life? The answer to that question, is everything that you deserve. You just have to go get it… or realize that it was right in front of you the whole time. Either way I think you’ll love what you find.
So… how would you choose to live your life?
Happy Father's Day
All my life I've found some way to discredit or avoid celebrating the tiny holidays. To be truthful I was never an optimist before this part of my life. I would mock mother’s day and father’s day as just another event organized to squeeze more profits out of people by giving them an excuse to make money. It wasn't until just recently, after suffering an acute onset of adulthood, that i saw the point of it all. At least… I found a way to keep it from pointless so that i could participate without hurting people’s feelings. The point of father’s day is to take account of what you came from, who you came from, and of how lucky you are to have been carried this far in life before having to deal with as another equal adult.
When I was 2 years old, I was living with my mother and father in Fulton, NY. My father, Joe, was working as a taxi driver and a “rent-a-cop” just to make ends meet. I was the first baby, and by the this time my mother, Kim, was pregnant with my little brother. At the same time my mother was a manager at a dollar store. So the stage was set, 3 jobs, 2 kids, a wife and a whole lot of bills to pay. The single most scarring fact that my father lived with was that his father never stuck around to provide for his children. He refused to repeat the same mistake that his father made when raising him, and he joined the Army for better or worse.
If he hadn't done this one thing for me and my little brother, I literally wouldn't be the person I am for all of you today. He’s spent 19 years in so far, with 4 years prior service, and is looking at finally retiring and settling down. I can’t count how many things have been provided for me thanks to the money, health insurance, and just being there to show when I’m wrong. All of this is what we have father’s day for.
At the end of the day, we can only start where we are born in this life. People don’t stop to think sometimes that where you are born has EVERYTHING to do with how far your parents brought you. That’s just the being born part, then you've got at least 16 to 18 more years to rest assured because your parents will help you get where you need to go. So hug your parents, thank them for what you've got….. you wouldn't be here without them.
Happy Father’s Day – Jacob Morrison
My life so far
I'm white, male, 21 years old and I have blue eyes with brown hair. This is the first thought that comes to my head when I think about telling my story, but these are just descriptions of my physical body. We can only describe who we are at the present moment. I am a Musician, a Writer, a Philosopher, an Entrepreneur, a son, a brother, a cousin, a nephew, and a friend. I have been all of these things so far, but is your identity limited to what you have been?
I wouldn't believe so.
This may come off a little weird, a little crazy...
But I seriously believe that i am a soul, an infinite consciousness. When I say that, I instantly sound pompous or grandiose. We are all this though. We all come from the same god, but we ultimately make ourselves.
..... are we all god?
I won't pretend to know the answer to this question, but I intend to enjoy every aspect of asking it. That will be my story. How we find our way back to the sensation of whatever god means to you.
So to this point in my life I have been through various phases, all of which led me here. Towards the end of high school I fell into a great depression. I looked forward into an endless hamster wheel of doing things that I hate to do just to make the money I shouldn't need to buy things that I don't want. I couldn't see anything other than this physical reality. I graduated high school and worked up until 21 years old at various dead end fast food jobs.
Mind you, I had also throughout my teenage years cultivated a talent for singing and playing guitar, so working a "normal" job and being another "normal" taxpaying citizen didn't make very happy at all. I had just moved back to a town that i didn't know, and i couldn't see any light at the end of the tunnel. When it got much worse than i thought I could handle, I made one choice that lead to me to meet the members of the band I play for now. It's called Queen City Heist.
This was my first miracle, my first manifestation and sign of divine order. I honestly don't know where I'd be if that hadn't happened, but my point is that everyone can live a better life.
But usually only as fast as you can believe that you can live a better life. Until next time - Jacob Morrison
Amazing the Mind
Throughout my life I've found that the one thing that you can do for yourself that will keep life entertaining. One thing that will pull you through the bad times, and brighten the good times. Endeavor every day just to amaze your mind. Your conscious mind and the identity attached to it will constantly paint a dull veneer over the beauty of your universe.... You only have to amaze yourself to keep this from happening.
You'll find something even more peculiar as you keep this up in your life. The more that you amaze your mind, the more amazing your mind becomes. The sensation of awe, and amazement seems to be like an omniscient light that pervades all assumptions and expectations. Use it as a force to enlighten your mind.
Throughout the majority of my early life i spent countless hours eating junkfood, inhaling sodas, and putting months of my life into virtual worlds that didn’t matter outside the confines of my parents’ house. As i grew into adulthood and graduated out of high school i realized that my routine had to end, but i didn’t even have a frame of reference as to how to start beating back the habits that planted me so firmly into my couch cushions. This problem plagued me from the day of my graduation, right up until i found a certain group of people that changed my life. Some of the information that they provided served me well in undoing alot of my bad habits. These are some of the things that helped me break my lazy habits.
*Meditation is easily the best thing i was ever taught how to do, and it can do wonders in any part of your life. In fact, on three different occasions from 1983 through 1995, groups of approximately 7,000 people meditated for an 8 to 11 day period. This happened twice in the U.S. and once in Holland. The focal point of the meditation was centered on peace creating emotions. The effects showed a 72% decrease in global terrorist activity, using just the power of YOUR MIND!!! Learn to create your own reality, and you won’t be able to be lazy. You will have a physical need to achieve your goals.
*The second strategy i used was to start changing the people that i spent most of my time around. “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.’ Jim Rohn……. Pay attention to this quote, don’t just hear it…. listen to it in your mind and ask yourself who you really want to be. Then find the people in your life that best represent that, and surround yourself with those people. Those people will be the ones that will teach how to be who you want to be. More importantly, notice the people that you hang around with too much. Eventually you will realize that some people will hold you back, and as sad as it is to say goodbye sometimes… you have to let go of the old to get anything new.
*Maybe even more important than who you spend time with, is the environment that you spend time in. Some people like to say cleanliness is godliness, i look at it a different way. All of life is separated into the thirds, Mind, Body, Spirit. The “body” part is about the physical, and if your physical environment looks messy and cluttered, than so will your mind. There is a large “Fake it ‘Till You Make It” factor in a lot of this, but just try to imagine you are rich, and treat everything in your life as if it was as valuable as you find yourself to be in your imagination. Needless to say this method turned me into quite the clean freak, but there is a noticeable difference in creative productivity once your work place is clear of your old messes.
*The last thing I did was looked hard at how i was spending my time. I wasn’t just a video game nerd, i was a science fiction nerd too… well i kind of still am. I used to spend entire days at a time sitting in front of every television show from Star Trek to Doctor Who, but one day i just couldn’t do it anymore. So i started to search and categorize the ways i spend every minute of my day, and i found the only way that worked for me was to replace my unproductive time wasting habits with habits that i wanted to have. Replace your TV with a laptop for blogging and network marketing and replace your science fiction programs with educational videos to learn new things.
The point of all these techniques is to realize that you can only get what you give, so if you want to experience love, wealth, joy, and compassion… you have to BE LOVE, WEALTH, JOY, and COMPASSION!!!
I hope someone enjoys these tips, I hope you all have a wonderful day, Jacob Morrison
