Ima be fully honest, I did all of this without even realizing how much characters I set up to make the five, so I had to remember who did the fandom like, especially near the end lol. I also didn’t want to include any OCs since I felt that would’ve been too easy. I’m actually really proud of these designs, especially the ones I never drew before.
As I am a woman of the people, I will be talking about as many THSC ships I know. Now, this my opinion, please don't kill me for this. Also, I don't fully understand romance. Only that if I gag at two characters, that probably means they're doing something romantic.
Also, I'm expressing my thoughts on how nice would they be when written rather than how they are as a couple. Because ho-boy, I love a good dysfunctional and toxic relationship, where the two characters are clearly bad for each other but you can't stop watching this train wreck, and pray that the two characters get out of the relationship okay.
Now, here it is:
Henry x Charles: This one is a classic. They're already best friends in the main series, so all you need to do is make them kiss and bing-batta-boom! They're a good opposites attract, but are also share a single braincell. I think 2 Left Thumbs made a pretty good video about Charles and his relationship to Henry. Also, Toppat! Henry x Charles is just really, really good toxic yaoi. Technically, you can have it be secret lovers, but man I prefer Charles in a hopeless situation trying to fight back, with Henry believing he can solve all his problems via stealing. So, much angst and drama potential! Great ship!
Henry x Ellie: ...This is a weird one, cause I think I like it, but any time I see it I don't. I blame Roses, Lilies, and Two Lips by EmeraldCityCoast, as it's such a good Henry x Ellie fic, that made me get on board with it. But I think the reason I don't like it, is because when people ship it, they just go with the standard guy meets girl that you see everywhere. Also, they're just... way to similar. But that's less a problem with the ship and more of my problem with Ellie as a whole. Also, there's not much interesting thing you can do with it, they match each other TOO well. Just partners in crime and nothing else. Maybe a toxic rivalry in TCW my beloved could work? But I don't know...
Ellie x Charles: I see the appeal, but it's like... not for me. It suffers the same problem with Henry x Ellie, where it's just a nothing burger. However, the two teaming up to stop Henry is honestly what saves it for me, and them becoming friends (and possibly lovers) through their mutual hatred of Henry. Good stuff. Anything else... nah.
Henry x Charles x Ellie: Despite what I said about the previous Ellie ships, I don't dislike it. I like having the trio in a polycule. Probably because of some great fics, where it explores their dynamic but with each one of them having a crush on the other and fearing rejection. Especially since it's a polycule, and if something happens to one of them, you get the other two teaming up to save them, which can happen platonically as well. (I'm still alive au says hi).
Henry x Jacob: "Ellie, I ####ed your brother. What are you going to do about it?"
Rupert x Dave: ...ya'll already know I vibe with these two doomed idiots. The parallels gamers, the parallels! Two friends that because of one mistake go down two entirely different paths, where they possibly end on separate sides. Can they save each other? Are they even the same person after everything? Can the wounds of the past heal? Or is the only way they can be together again is in the ground. Gosh, it's so juicy!
Rupert x Dave x Johnny: Weirdly, I don't like this one. I tried it but I went nah. I think it's only because Johnny's dynamic with these two works better as a friend than a lover to me. I put in the polycule is that I have the same opinion of Rupert x Johnny and Dave x Johnny, so might as well combine the two. Johnny is their hype man and loyal companion. Don't get me wrong, there's so much angst with involving Johnny, but man- he's just their best friend, who is helpless to stop the doomed yaoi and friendship.
Rupert x Henry: It's the Kerdly ship to me. I don't think these two would ever get along enough to be in a romantic relationship. So, them being shipped together is hilarious to me. Just put the two in a room, make a comment about how they're love birds, and watch them both argue and gag at the thought. I do think if someone could write a REALLY good Rupert x Henry fic, I might like it, but a lass. Nobody has made one yet that has convinced me. Also, toppat! Henry x Rupert should be explored. That sounds way more toxic than Toppat!Henry x Charles, only because Henry begins it hating Rupert. That sounds like a grimdark story waiting to be written.
Henry x Dave: I see the appeal, when it's not toppat. It's sweet and having them make up for past wounds. Also there's something about having a person always showing up throughout your life, despite everything that's is nice in a way. They can also have a cute tutor x tutoree type of thing where they have different and skills experiences, but are on similar levels. *Pause* Toppat Civil Warfare Henry x Dave is incredibly toxic, as they're both at their lowest point and desperately need someone else, so they cling on to each other, even if it hurts, and that's delicious. I want more of their toxic codependence, where Henry steps over boundaries just to keep Dave near as he fears Dave will betray him like all the rest, and Dave allows it, as he doesn't want Henry to betray him either.
Henry x Johnny: Nobody ships this. If they did, it be like Rupert x Henry, but worse. Put them in a room together and only one is coming out. The only way it work is if Johnny and Henry were already on the same page in the beginning, and I still think it'd be shaky friendship. They tolerate each other, nothing romantic about that.
Henry x the Diamond: canon.
Ellie x Rupert: I am the biggest FRIENDshipper of these two. I think they would be great friends. Mostly cause it parallel's Henry's and Charles's relationship. I think they'd be good influences on each other, with Rupert having a high moral compass and bluntness preventing Ellie from accidentally breaking the relationship (communication), and Ellie teaching him nuances and that nothing is black and white. I think if you lock them in a room, they'd have each other's back. They'd also chill in the background while Charles and Henry have drama. As romance partners? Nah, gives away the nuances in my opinion. Also, they're both gym rats together.
Ellie x Dave: I see the appeal, but it's not for me. It's a lesser version of what I like about Ellie x Rupert. Only like it in my swap au, where Dave gets Ellie's respect, and she and him form a bond because of it. It's simple and sweet.
Ellie x Johnny: this is an actual ship, believe it or not. I know it because there's someone who ships Henry x Rupert and Charles x Dave, so the forgotten people of their respective trio's should hook up. Don't have anything for this, as it really feels like a ship just to ship so they can have someone. Not very interesting, they just have mutual friends. Maybe they can drink together while their friends have romance.
Charles x Rupert: This one is a nice one, as I do love the two being friends, and believe in timelines where Henry never befriends Charles, they become best friends. Do I see them kissing. Not really, but it's nice to see when they do.
Charles x Dave: I think there's actually potienal to be have there, as they're both nice people who want to do a good job, but one is so much better at it. I think they'd match well. Would probably have a bit of Dave putting Charles on a pedestal, but I think he'd do the same with Rupert. Really, it probably be a Dave fell first, where after Charles saves him he tries to connect with him, but Charles keeps him at a distance. However, Dave eventually gets Charles to open up and the latter falls in love. Happy ending!
Charles x Johnny: They're very similar, but unlike Dave where the similarities are in the niceties and belonging, it's the reckless thrill seeking parts. They would be an uncontrolled fire, worse than Charles x Henry. Two chaotic idiots against the world. And they kiss sometimes.
Johnny x Kurt: I don't know why, but this ship captivates me. Kurt being a grumpy squidward type man, with this tornado of impulsivity and recklessness. I think Johnny would be Kurt's hype man, while Kurt grounds Johnny. They'd also be queerplatonic together you're honor.
Dave x Kurt: Eh, fine. Prefer their dynamic in canon, and I like to think after Dave leaves, Kurt starts improving his life, unaware that Dave's life is going down the drain.
Dave x Jacob: Seems pretty cute. But I prefer them as friends.
Charles x Victoria: Eh, it's a ship. I think this is more that I don't care about Victoria at all. She's nice, but like... I don't care.
Rupert x Victoria: Sure, why not. Have Rupert date someone in the military. There's some cute content of it, but like I said, I don't care for her. (Also, there are so many other characters to bond with. He doesn't need a love interest).
Charles x Amelia: Better as Amelia has more of a canon personality to deal with. Probably would be similar to Charles x Johnny, but less dangerous, as Amelia loves explosives but has some level of self-preservation, that can ground Charles.
Gorden x Amelia x John: I like it. They needed more screen time. If I ever make a Stickronpa 2 they will be in it. Romantic wise, it's fine. Neither here or there.
Charles x Calvin: Calvin Calvin. All there is to it. Do enjoy the idea it started as a prank then became real.
Henry x Konrad: Sympathy. Same as Charles x Calvin, but different.
Konrad or Calvin x Victoria: I think I do like this one. Probably because of a certain artist (not sure if it is Konrad or Calvin though)
Konrad or Calvin x Rupert: Same opinion as Victoria x Rupert. It's fine, though they will probably get on his nerves lol.
Dr V x Ellie: Don't personally ship it, as I see Dr. V as an asexual. But when I do see, I can't help but smile. Needs more content.
Dr V x Hubert: They're unofficial siblings your honor I'm sorry. But I'm so starved for their possible dynamic I'll take a romance spin.
Hubert x Dmitri: Sorry, Hubert deserves better in my opinion (and straight). But regardless, it's nice when it pops up. Usually since it's paired with a sympathetic Dmitri, which funny enough I don't write about.
Hubert x Hershell: I like it only so Johnny and Charles would become siblings lol. The closest gay ship I'd ever write for Hubert.
Hershell x Quintien: Eh, I see the appeal. But they become too background-y for me.
Reginald x Right: I like it. The only thing holding it back is that I'm not a huge of fan of the characters. I think I'd enjoy it more if I loved them.
Dmitri x Gregory: Similar to Reginald x Right, but I don't care for Gregory. He's just there. But I just like writing Dmitri as an unredeemable monster.
Reginald x Henry: This one rubs me the wrong way. I know there's no canon age, but something about it just... gives me ick. I guess I see Reginald more as an old mentor figure/parent to Henry. Also could be something about how I do not care about Reginald. I don't know, just trying to explain my feelings. (sorry flamingredanon)
Right x Henry: Henry chopped Right in half, and Right is definitely a person to hold a grudge. I don't think it's right or even become friends. I think Right is professional, but not forgiving. Besides if you go to the Toppat Recruits, there becomes a huge power inbalance, that I'm not interested in. Probably because once again, I don't care about him.
Right x Ellie: I like Right being Ellie's mentor and they're gym rats together. See them more platonic than romantic.
Reginald x Ellie: ...I love crown of roses. I do enjoy the betrayal parts and drama. But as a couple? Not really. It's fine.
Sven x Burt: It's nice. I usually write them as best friends or queerplatonic. Sven rants to Burt, and Burt listens. They keep each other a float.
Sven x Ellie: Is it bad I like writing them as enemies more than I like writing them as friends? Sven is either Ellie's right-hand and helps her, or judges her harshly and projects. No inbetween for me.
Burt x Henry: This just Henry x Charles, but for people who want Toppat! Henry without the messiness of Charles switching sides.
Burt x Charles: You just want the headphones people to get together, don't you? Again, a chatty person with the listener. Also, they bond heavily over being neurodivergent, especially Charles who is sort of jealous/loves that Burt is so open and accepting about his autism.
Burt x Dave: Someone please write a fic with these two getting together. This ship haunts me. Please. It's basically someone giving Dave a bone while captured. It's bittersweet. It also references Sven x Burt too, with the talkative one with the listener, just less rude.
Sven x Dave: Same goes for Burt x Dave, but less likely for me to wrap my head around, as I doubt Sven would like to date or befriend a dirty prisoner. But, if you somehow get around that, it's nice.
Rupert x Burt: Only see this in a government Burt au. Not a big fan, but love the story I saw it in.
Reginald x Sven: Prefer the parental Reginald and Sven dynamic.
Sven x Carol: Two bossy people who will either drive each other insane, or team up and become THE BOSS
Carol x Jewel: I feel like this exists only so there's more lesbian ships. In this game that features manly men. It's nice, I just don't see it.
Reginald x Rupert: Don't ship it. Don't see how they would be in love.
Terrance x Reginald: Although I love whore Terrance, I just see them as friends. Maybe they slept together once, but they're more friends than anything else. Also, very good toxic tension in there.
Terrance x Rupert: This ship haunts me. Saw someone write a cute fic for it, and I went, "There's probably so much you can do with it." Someone should sink their teeth into it.
Terrance x Randy: I see the appeal. They're both the worst toppat leaders in history. I just think they would've lived in two different time periods and thus never would've been together. Kind of like a right person different time sort of thing.
Randy x Jaques: I like it. I like the idea of Randy being Jaques's right hand. I love making a tragedy for them.
Anyways, this all I can think of. Sorry if I insulted your ship, I tried to be as nice while also being honest. Hopefully, I introduce you to some new ships to write. I don't know.
Silly little doodle of Jacob and Randy feeling something really is up with Johnny but can't tell what exactly is wrong.
I'm going to explain things further down below if you're interested:
Alright, so, Randy and Jacob are going to be like the first people to tell something is not quite right with Johnny even though they don't know why. It's a side effect from their Miraculouses.
For those who have been keeping up with this AU would know that Jacob has the Swan Miraculous while Randy has the Hummingbird. One of the common symbolisms for swans is love and loyalty albeit it's used for more romantic context but I'm using it for a more platonic/friendship undertone in this AU. Another thing that swans are linked to are intuition and inner wisdom so Jacob noticing Johnny's odd toxic behaviour earlier than most of the cast isn't that far-fetched to believe.
As for Randy, well, hummingbirds are symbols of joy and happiness so the role of a Hummingbird would make sure the team is feeling good at all times. Naturally, they would 'sense' or 'feel' a threat to their team's happiness: that's why Randy is on his guard around Johnny. I found out this particular tidbit in a book about birds but apparently, hummingbirds attack birds bigger than them like jays and hawks (which is quite funny since Johnny has the Peacock Miraculous and a peacock is obviously bigger than a hummingbird).
I was recently thinking about a fic about this 'Johnny acting off is slowly getting noticed', maybe after the next or maybe two chapters are finished, I might consider writing it.
