#FromTheSidelines Jones High School traveled to Ocala to play Forest High School Friday night. The Fightin' Tigers were stronger and faster than the Wildcats, and the visitors (in the words of the FHS head coach) basically manhandled the home team, with the final score Jones 60 / Forest 0. These images aren't the plays of the game...they probably didn't make any highlight reel...as a matter of fact, I'm not sure they even made the cut for the online photo gallery for the newspaper... But I thought a couple players in them deserved to be in the spotlight, if even just for a second. In the first image, Forest's #3 Chase Oliver is tackled hard by Jone's #13 @mj_tillman. It's not the tackle that impressed me as much as it was the actions of Tillman Jr when the play was over, helping Oliver up. It was a little thing, over in just a few seconds, but it was a cool thing to see such a fierce competitor do for his opponent, and it's something you don't see very often in big division high school games. What's really cool about all this, is that another Jones player did the same thing a little while later. You can see how hard #JacobBrown (#22) lays out Oliver, but instead of walking away and moving on to the next play, Brown comes back and reaches down to pull Oliver back up, even giving him an encouraging pat on the back. High school & college football is hard-hitting, competitive & often displays a win-at-all-costs mentality, with players celebrating hard hits & big plays. I love a competitive game of football as much as the next fan, but it's cool to see athletes showing respect to their opponents as well. Tillman Jr and Brown weren't the only Jones' players to show such maturity and class through this small, simple act...I just happened to capture their moments on camera. Props to the Jones' coaches for showing their players the "right way" to do things...and props to these two young men, who no doubt made a big impression on the Forest team, not only for their talent and high level of play, but for their class and sportsmanship as well. CONNECTING by Jacob Brown

We had the great pleasure of getting to work with the philosophical and innovative Jacob Brown and Stylist, Clare Byrne on this short film starring Actress and Writer, Bella Thorne for VMagazine.com.  From the exciting and crowded Lower East Side, Manhattan to the charming carousel and ocean views of DUMBO. Running around with a camera crew, High Fashion clothing and actors from location to location was what made this all the more fun. This city is packed with fun things and people to see which all the more makes it perfect for filming excitement and love stories. These things get somewhat overlooked and underrated sometimes by us though due to our obsessions with technology.
