CONNECTING by Jacob Brown
“We’re always talking about the emotional aspect of technology lately—how it has changed the way we live, the way we communicate, the way we think, even.”
We had the great pleasure of getting to work with the philosophical and innovative Jacob Brown and Stylist, Clare Byrne on this short film starring Actress and Writer, Bella Thorne for VMagazine.com. From the exciting and crowded Lower East Side, Manhattan to the charming carousel and ocean views of DUMBO. Running around with a camera crew, High Fashion clothing and actors from location to location was what made this all the more fun. This city is packed with fun things and people to see which all the more makes it perfect for filming excitement and love stories. These things get somewhat overlooked and underrated sometimes by us though due to our obsessions with technology.
“Within relationships, there is a presumed one on one dialogue, a connection that is said to clear away all the bullshit and present a stage for that perfect, unequivocal meeting of the minds. What happens, though, when technology, and the modes of communication with which you feel most comfortable, are representative of a web of thoughts, vast and all-inclusive? What if the way in which you find that special person—the one—is through a means that involves someone else, and therefore must, because of a clear dependency that is essential to the first meeting and to the entire relationship thereafter by default, be continuously involved?”
